The scattered background flux accompanying observation of fusion plasma neutrons is a limiting factor in high accuracy neutron diagnostics such as will be required on ITER. The factors determining the shape and magnitude of the scattered neutron spectrum have been investigated in terms of the possibilities for calculating and measuring the spectrum, and to determine the dependence on the nuclide composition of the plasma vessel and changes in the plasma condition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
