Dictionaries are the most important resources for vocabulary learning in English for Specific Purposes, and their importance as a language learning strategy is enormous. This paper examines the strategies and sub-strategies of dictionary use in order to design English for Specific Purposes course in accordance with the obtained results. It was concluded that the students did not show the expected efficiency in dictionary use. Accordingly, instruction on efficient dictionary use should be integrated into English for Specific Purposes instruction aimed at achieving effectiveness and developing strategies, substrategies and practical techniques regarding dictionary use.
