Este artigo explora aspectos das reformas educacionais que estão ocorrendo no Brasil, relacionando-os com uma ‘visão global’ que se aproxima das tendências e semelhanças que podem ser encontradas nas reformas educativas neoliberais em todo o mundo. Nós vamos delinear inúmeros processos inter-relacionados que se fazem presentes na escola como um local de trabalho, incluindo a intensificação do trabalho docente, a flexibilização da força de trabalho no ensino e a liberação da oferta de serviços na educação pública. O que será mostrado é que esses processos tem sido determinados por políticas neoliberais em escala global, por intermédio de uma combinação de privatizações endógenas e exógenas. As reformas que ocorrem no Brasil, e em muitos lugares, agem poderosamente não somente sobre as práticas e os valores da educação pública, mas também sobre as relações sociais no interior da escola e no entorno e para além do escolar. Elas tem um impacto significativo sobre o profissionalismo docente e opera para constituir docentes e suas subjetividades como performance e competição. Embora enfatizemos tendências gerais das reformas educativas neoliberais, também assistimos a algumas políticas locais específicas em inúmeros países.

The economic importance of micro hydro power plants is obvious around the world and the development trend will continue well into the future.Unfortunately the effects on the local lotic systems habitats and biocoenosis are not studied, and in some cases or are known only to a small degree.A variety of taxa were identified in the study case areas as being significantly affected by the micro hydro power plants: macrophytes, macroinvertebrates and fish.ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Mikrohydrozentralen -ein wirtschaftliches und oekologisches Problem.Die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der Mikrohydrozentralen ist weltweit augenscheinlich und ihre Entwicklungstendenz wird sich sicherlich auch in Zukunft fortsetzen.Leider sind ihre Auswirkungen auf die lotischen Habitate und Biocoenosen fallweise nicht untersucht worden oder sind lediglich graduell unterschiedlich bekannt.Zu der grossen Vielfalt taxonomischer Gruppen, die von den Mikrohydrozentarlen in den Bereichen der Fallstudien als erheblich betroffen eingestuft wurden, gehoeren die Makrophyten, Makrinvertebraten und Fische.REZUMAT: Microhidrocentralele -o problemă economică şi ecologică. Importanţa economică a microhidrocentralelor este evidentă în toată lumea iar tendinţa de dezvoltare a acestora va continua cu certitudine în viitor.Din păcate, efectele acestora asupra habitatelor şi biocenozelor sistemelor lotice nu sunt studiate în unele cazuri sau sunt cunoscute în diferite grade.O varietate ridicată de grupe taxonomice au fost identificate în aria studiilor de caz ca fiind afectate semnificativ de microhidrocentrale: macrofite, macronevertebrate, peşti.

Despite progress in improving secondary school completion in Latin America, a high proportion of young people from urban marginalised neighbourhoods continue to drop out. On the basis of in-depth interviews with young people in an informal settlement of the City of Buenos Aires, the paper aims to broaden the understanding of the processes that lead to school dropout in these neighbourhoods. It does so by examining what young people value being and doing, and how they interpret the value of secondary school in their own lives and contexts. The results point to the critical importance of the family in young peoples' processes of reasoning and decisionmaking, the complex interaction between capabilities, and the benefits of schools that provide social and emotional support to students and families. The paper argues that listening to the voices of young people can give significant insights for the design of policies to close the gap in education outcomes in segregated urban contexts.

Digital spaces establish diverse expectations among users, and our reliance on them suggests they are permanent fixtures. From a philosophical perspective, they become especially fascinating for their hidden features. For some, these obscurities are simply extensions of earlier technological inventions; for others, though, they indicate something new altogether.In what follows, we interrogate digital spaces from several philosophical vantage points, inquiring into their agendas, their possibilities for renewed relationships in times of trouble, and their capacity to reveal other thought. The Editorial Development Group, working with this wide range of ideas, consists of scholars who have collectively decided that the theme of digital spaces -and their possibilities and drawbacks -is particularly relevant, given they are currently unavoidable and often desirable.
