ABSTRACT:In this paper soft starting of asynchronous motor via two different power electronics devices is obtained as well as this paper give comparative performance of asynchronous motor for same firing angle applying on two different power electronics devices first one is thyristor and second one is insulated gate bipolar transistor. This paper employ the topology in order to minimizing the adverse effects of high inrush currents in induction motors starting torque transients with the help of electronically controlled soft-starting voltages utilizing silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs). In this paper fundamental frequency and THD is calculated in both for R-L load and asynchronous motor by various firing angles, and influence of load variations in terms of firing angle has been investigated for Thyristor and IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor).
In this paper, researcher designed a delay-dependent wide-area damping controller based on Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) to enhance the power system stability by using remote signal obtained from Wide-Area Measurement System (WAMS). This remote signals introduces a time delay in the feedback signal, as a result, degrade the system damping performance and even causes instability of close loop power system. To find out various controller parameters, use of Genetic Algorithm (GA) is adopted. The performance of Multi-Machines system is evaluated with proposed controller including signal delay and Conventional PSS(CPSS) in MATLAB simulation. Various results show that SSSC based controller damp-out the inter-area oscillations under small disturbance more effectively as compare to LPSS
Smart Grid is future of the mankind. Embedded Applications, Power Generation and Distribution are integral part of smart grid application, and plays vital role in proficiency, performance, efficiency and stability of the system. Wide area distribution of embedded application in smart grid; demands critical focus on each integral part of Smart Grid System. Distributed Generation is most important part of any smart system. Application of Distributed Generation enhances efficiency, stability and profile of Smart Grid. This research article investigates the technique used in distributed generation in smart grid system. A comprehensive investigation is presented which includes key issues in the DG integrations; various DG technologies used so far, advantages and disadvantages of penetration of DG in smart grid application and research gap in the respective field. The article also discusses the penetration of DGs in the Indian power system in multidisciplinary context.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
