Adiponectin and its receptors are expressed in the male reproductive system, which play a role in regulating male sex hormones and fertility. Diabetes was induced by Streptozotocin-Nicotinamide (STZ-NA i.p) in rats and after performing the trainings, adiponectin gene expression and its receptors in the testis were evaluated using real time PCR, and blood serum was then used in order to assess FSH, LH and testosterone. The STZ-NA significantly increased the fasting blood glucose, gene expression of adiponectin AdipoR1 in the testicles of diabetic rats. A significant reduction in serum testosterone and LH levels were observed in the diabetic group. Resistance and endurance training decreased blood glucose, adiponectin and AdipoR1 gene, and also increased the serum testosterone and LH levels in diabetic rats. Overall, our data suggest the role played by training in improve expression of adiponectin and AdipoR1 gene by increasing the serum testosterone and LH levels in type 2 diabetic rats.
SUMMARY:The growth pattern of children is affected by anthropometric dimensions. This study was aimed to investigate anthropometric factors related to growth of preschool children of a sample population in Iran. This study was performed in year 2011 on 1320 of 4-7 years old preschool children in Arak. To classify, body mass index (BMI), height and weight were recorded. The four contact points (head, back, buttocks, and heels) were maintained against the spine of the stadiometer during measurement. The head was positioned in the Frankfurt plane, and the sliding bar was lowered the crown of the head. Height was measured and recorded by the researchers. A pair of manual calibrated Seca scales was used to measure body mass in kilograms. The participants were least dressed in the uniform. We have classified BMI to four groups as group1, BMI with 10.75-15 and group 2, 3, 4 with 15.1-17 and 17.1-20, 20.1-22.5, respectively. Foot length was recorded as the distance from the posterior aspect of the heel to the most distal aspect of the longest toe. Foot length was measured with subjects standing upright using a foot board, a plastic device with calibrated lineation (in centimeters and millimeters). Analysis showed that sex neither affect on BMI nor foot measurements. The present findings contribute to the understanding of the effect of body mass on the structural development of the pediatric foot and musculoskeletal system. Excessive body mass seems to lead to increased foot length and width.
Introduction: Anencephaly is one of the most common neural tube defects. Neural tube defects are birth defects that affect the tissue that grows into the spinal cord and brain. Anencephaly occurs early in the development of an unborn baby. It results when the upper part of the neural tube fails to close. Why this happens is not known. Possible causes include environmental toxins and low intake of folic acid during pregnancy. Anencephaly occurs in about 4 out of 10,000 births. The exact number is unknown, because many of these pregnancies result in miscarriage. Having one infant with this condition increases the risk of having another child with neural tube defects. Materials and Methods & Results: We report a case anencephaly fetal and his characters in this study from 11543 women in 18month attending the antenatal clinic (Taleghani gynecology center in Arak city of Iranian center). Conclusion: It is recommended for this fetal disorder, mother ultrasound at from 12 to 20 weeks of pregnancy
