Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has emerged in Wuhan, China, in December 2019,1 and the World Health Organization has declared it a pandemic in March 2020. Since then, severe neurological complications associated with COVID-19 have been described, including encephalitis and stroke.2,3 Recently, it has been recognized that acute neuropathies may also occur.4,5 Herein, we report a COVID-19 patient presenting an acute refractory painful polyradiculoneuritis.
Hematoma epidural do vértex é considerado raro e a bilateralidade é incomum. Geralmente ocorrem por fraturas do vértex que comprometem o seio sagital superior. Devido à sua localização e apresentação clínica, o diagnóstico é tardio. Esta condição requer, portanto, alto grau de suspeição na abordagem dos traumatismos crânio-encefálicos, com vista a diminuir a alta morbimortalidade por essa entidade. Relatamos o caso de paciente com extenso hematoma epidural traumático do vértex com apresentação bilateral, diagnosticado através de tomografia computadorizada de crânio em cortes axiais e submetido à craniotomia biparietal para drenagem do hematoma.
