Abstract. In this paper, we present an adaptive, hybrid semantic matchmaker for SAWSDL services, called SAWSDL-MX2. It determines three kinds of semantic service similarity with a given service request, that are logic-based, text-based and structural similarity. In particular, the degree of structural service similarity is computed by the WSDLAnalyzer tool [12] by means of XMLS tree edit distance measurement, string-based and lexical comparison of the respective XML-based WSDL services. SAWSDL-MX2 then learns the optimal aggregation of these different matching degrees over a subset of a test collection SAWSDL-TC1 based on a binary support vector machine-based classifier. Finally, we compare the retrieval performance of SAWSDL-MX2 with a nonadaptive matchmaker variant SAWSDL-MX1 [1] and the straight forward combination of its logic-based only variant SAWSDL-M0 with WSDLAnalyzer.
We present an intelligent service matchmaker, called iSeM, for adaptive and hybrid semantic service selection that exploits the full semantic profile in terms of signature annotations in description logic SH and functional specifications in SWRL. In particular, iSeM complements its strict logical signature matching with approximated reasoning based on logical concept abduction and contraction together with informationtheoretic similarity and evidential coherence-based valuation of the result, and non-logic-based approximated matching. Besides, it may avoid failures of signature matching only through logical specification plug-in matching of service preconditions and effects. Eventually, it learns the optimal aggregation of its logical and non-logic-based matching filters off-line by means of binary SVM-based service relevance classifier with ranking. We demonstrate the usefulness of iSeM by example and preliminary results of experimental performance evaluation.
Abstract. We present the first open and cross-disciplinary 3D Internet research platform, called ISReal, for intelligent 3D simulation of realities. Its core innovation is the comprehensively integrated application of semantic Web technologies, semantic services, intelligent agents, verification and 3D graphics for this purpose. In this paper, we focus on the interplay between its components for semantic XML3D scene query processing and semantic 3D animation service handling, as well as the semantic-based perception and action planning with coupled semantic service composition by agent-controlled avatars in a virtual world. We demonstrate the use of the implemented platform for semantic-based 3D simulations in a small virtual world example with an intelligent user avatar and discuss results of the platform performance evaluation.
Scalable means for the search of relevant web services are essential for the development of intelligent service-based applications in the future Internet. Key idea of semantic web services is to enable such applications to perform a high-precision search and automated composition of services based on formal ontology-based representations of service semantics. In this paper, we briefly survey the state of the art of semantic web service search.
