This article focuses on optimisation of the distribution routes for a company that produces carpets, floor coverings and tapestries. The optimisation process is based on operational research methods including, without limitations, Mayer’s method and the single linkage method. The obtained results are subsequently compared to the current situation and evaluated in terms of time and costs. The conclusion provides the optimised economic solution.
At present, companies should definitely be able to adapt to their environment. It entails being able to successfully predict and eliminate flaws and undesirable steps which may result in negative consequences. It can only be executed by careful consideration of three basic enterprise’s components which comprise the following: material resources, financial resources and human resources. An effective corporate coordination and human resource management is a cornerstone of the enterprise’s success while these components are of the same importance to this success. To this end, the aim of this manuscript is to design innovative recruitment procedures when using age management approach for a specific transport company; in particular, its human resource management is taken into consideration. In the initial parts of the manuscript, an analysis of quantitative and qualitative data is performed, wherein introduction into the addressed subject, relevant literature review, as well as description of utilized data and methods within the conducted research are elaborated. Consequently, in a case study section, the Work Ability Index (WAI) method is used to focus on the chosen group of employees in order to profoundly investigate their work abilities. The very examination of employees’ life cycle encompasses multiple age categories and measures a decrease in their work ability level. As for the ensuing (final) parts of the manuscript, a thorough evaluation of results obtained, appropriate discussion and, last but not least, conclusion section are compiled, in which the most imperative findings of the performed investigation are comprehensively summarized. Following the above, the purpose of this study is to compile a novel methodological procedure in terms of using the principles of age management in human resource management; specifically, in an opted transport company, and thus helping towards more effective and sustainable corporate recruitment strategy.
By designing road infrastructure, it is necessary to adapt the real situation to current development trends and respond accordingly to the intensity of traffic on the transport network. The development of the traffic situation is generally very dynamic, difficult to predict and influenced by a number of other factors. Modern technologies enable adaptive traffic flow management based on the sharing and evaluation of traffic information obtained in real time from traffic monitoring systems or even from vehicles as such (e.g. thanks to “Connected Vehicles” technology). The article first carries out a literature review of professional literature and scientific articles dealing with the issue of autonomous mobility and autonomous management of transport processes. That is followed by a description and creation of own algorithm for autonomous control of vehicles at the level crossing, including description of used data, methods and proposed solutions. Finally, the developed method (algorithm) is tested by the Anylogic simulation program in a real environment, as a case study of autonomous vehicle decision-making at the level crossing.
The paper presents recommendations determined to assist logistic companies in conceiving an efficient B2B implementation policy with the aim of enhancing market competitiveness, especially in time of intensified market competition. The research is based on an analysis of the situation in B2B implementation during the period of the 2008-2009 economic crisis, where – on a sample of 229 logistic companies based in the Czech Republic – it ascertains whether the extent of B2B implementation changed over this period. This is done in a short-time (2006 vs. 2010) as well as long-time (extended with 2014 vs. 2018) horizon. Although some conclusions are in contradiction with other authors, they state a high extent of B2B implementation, which even further increased over the above economic crisis and even continued in a longer time horizon following the crisis. The conclusions are then analogically transferred to the present 2020 “coronavirus economic recession” and practicable recommendations are formulated. Being made on a high level of reliability, the recommendations have a potential to serve as an efficient tool ensuring economic “survival” of logistic companies, which is – especially in the field of logistics due to the implemented anti-COVID measures creating new trade barriers – very actual.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
