In addition to the environmental data (i.e., data that has been produced and collected by professional ecologists to solve certain environmental problems), other sources of open data can be used to study environmental problems. For example, data created by users for other purposes and extracted from social media can be used to study biodiversity, monitor environment and analyze environmental practices. The article represents a summary of such an empirical study that featured messages about air pollution in the city of Cherepovets published in the VKontakte social network. The study covered the period from January 01, 2020, to October 31, 2022. The methodology included the following steps: selecting relevant network communities; uploading and classifying the relevant messages; thematic modeling and content analysis. The sample included 48 messages that introduced the problem of air pollution in Cherepovets. The PolyAnalyst data analysis platform revealed the following most common phrases: polluting substance, atmospheric air, harmful substance, ammonia emission, liquid complex fertilizers, ammonia concentration. The article also contains a list of industrial enterprises mentioned as polluting agents. The results illustrate the opinions of social net users about the quality of air in Cherepovets. It can be concluded that social networks might help monitor the interest in environmental problems, because they shape the environmental agenda ahead of television and other information sources.
He article presents a model forcareer guidance and professional self-determination of children of different age groups based on the principles of gamification, including target, meaningful, technological and effective components. The target component includes two types of goals: an overall goal and specific career guidance goals for each age.The The content component is a digital platform designed to record the digital footprint of each participant, which is formed in the process and as a result of developmental career guidance work. The technological component includes a set of game mechanics applied on the digital platform, which allow recording the number of classes attended by each user for each type of profession. The effective component is associated with the understanding of the effectiveness of career guidance and professional self-determination of children in the continuous education process.
The article considers the problem of the lack of methods for calculating and selecting design parameters when developing and implementing a fiber-optic force sensor (FOFS) as a separate element or component of the system. To solve this problem, we propose to develop a transform function of the power loss of the optical signal from the bending radius of the fiber under the action of applied forces, linking the features of the optical fiberand physico-mechanical parameters of the base on which the fiber is located. Based on the calculations performed, a variant of the FOFS prototype design is proposed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
