No abstract

The University of Southern Queensland has a well deserved reputation for providing innovative quality distance education. This paper describes the development of a multimedia project, conducted by the Faculty of Engineering & Surveying and the Media Services Unit of the Distance Education Centre, using home entertainment interactive games machines for delivering undergraduate and post graduate engineering courses. It covers the rationale for the project, the hardware and software infrastructure, the structure of the interactive program, authoring concerns and concludes with a review of a typical module of study.
