The researches were initiated in the context emphasized by the competition having the idea of profit at its base, and sustainable development, which imposes limitations through different regulations and standards which would involve supplementary costs. The research highlights the main trends in plastic product design in conditions of sustainable development of society. Plastics have an important role in the configuration of the new products just in the phase of conception. Having in mind the main advantages of the utilization of plastics, the expectation is to see an increase of the weighting of these ones in the products development. The paper underlies the fact that the new approaches of the life cycle of a product, and especially the conception phase are essential for the entire life cycle, taking into account the fact that the polluting agent is paying and the producer must take into account its extended responsibility, beyond the product sale. This paper highlights the relevance of the retrieval of the product as a very important phase in sustainable development. It is stressed that, even since the conception phase of the product, there must be taken into account the recycling of each life phase of the product. This is applicable especially in the industry of automotive, which is under the pressure of the sustainability. In this context, the role of plastics will increase simultaneously with the solving of the recycling problems. The advantages of using plastic materials (optimization the geometry of the product, the possibility to enclose into narrow spaces, the weight decrease, the fuel consumption diminish) are reflected gradually, together with the increase of the recycling rate.
This paper presents the research results on the manufacture of some metal parts through the hardening process in liquid and solid state. This is a new, efficient and easily industrially adaptable process. It was experimented in Romania and abroad, with many positive results as compared to the usual technological processes.
The need to increase the reliability of the metal parts and the assessment of the cost-quality parameters of a matrix require big manufacturers to find new technological solutions focused on the following aspects: thin layer deposits, metallic coatings, use of bimetals, and multilayer materials. The coating of the copper-based quaternary alloys with carbon graphite impregnated polyester aims to improve the performance of the metal parts used in the aeronautics, automotive, and railway industries. The goal is to achieve the following objectives: to reduce the rate of premature failure, to reduce the maintenance and service costs, and to increase the service life (the competitiveness of the manufacturing companies is positively influenced by the latter). This paper studies the operating behavior of some copper-based quaternary alloys coated with carbon graphite-impregnated polyester. The influence of the carbon graphite coating is studied in terms of operating behavior, especially aiming to assess the intensity of the wear and the intensity of the accumulated wear. On the whole, proper wear behavior entails the possibility of obtaining an increase in the service life.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
