DIAMOUSES is an ongoing research and development project aiming to establish a platform supporting distributed and collaborative music performance. DIAMOUSES is designed to host a variety of application scenarios, including music rehearsal, music improvisation and music education, thus offering a tailorable enterprise-wide solution for organizations offering network-based music performance services. This paper presents the architectural underpinnings of DIAMOUSES and elaborates on the setup and the results of a recent pilot experiment in music rehearsal.
