The charge transfer spectra of Ni impurity in CdSe are reported and discussed. It is shown that they consist of the photoionization spectrum of the donor Niz+ (d8) and the spectrum connected with the transition of an electron from the valence band to the Ni in result of which the Nil+(dg) charge state is created. An analysis of the charge transfer spectra allows to determine the N2+(d8) donor level a t 0.32 eV and the Nil+(dg) acceptor level a t 1.81 eV above the top of the valence band. These results and other transition metal levels established previously in CdSe allows to discuss chemical trends in their position within the gap.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
