Cerebrospinal fluid and plasmatic levels of oxytocin (OT) have been found to change in mood disorders. In post-mortem studies, the numbers of OT-expressing neurons in the paraventricular nucleus have been reported to be increased. Moreover, OT is considered as an endogenous antistress hormone. It has also revealed antidepressive effects. OT may contribute to the dysregulation of the HPA system in major depression. The aim of the study was to assess a possible relationship between anxiety and plasma oxytocin (OT) levels in depressive patients. Severity of depression was estimated with the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and anxiety by using the Spielberger State-Anxiety Inventory. Results showed a significant negative correlation between oxytocin and the scored symptoms depression (r ¼ À0.58, p ¼ 0.003) and anxiety (r ¼ À0.61, p ¼ 0.005).
Abstract. Clean is a matching pursuit process which has two weak points: in situations of astrophysical interest, the "clean map" is not stable in the corresponding object representation space, and the "atoms" of this representation (translated versions of the "clean beam") are not well suited for reconstructing the boundaries of the structuring entities of the object at the related resolution level. As a result, Clean must be interrupted before the best possible fit is reached. How does Wipe wipe Clean clean? First, by introducing a global regularization principle based on the concept of resolution; and second, by conducting the matching pursuit process at the level of the high-resolution basis functions of the object space.
This article revisits the maximum entropy algorithm in the context of recovering the probability distribution of an asset from the prices of finitely many associated European call options via partially finite convex programming. We are able to provide an effective characterization of the constraint qualification under which the problem reduces to optimizing an explicit function in finitely many variables. We also prove that the value (or objective) function is lower semicontinuous on its domain. Reference is given to a website which exploits these ideas for the efficient computation of the maximum entropy solution (MES).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
