As the world comes to terms with the changes brought on by the appearance and spread of Covid-19, there is an increase in fear and anxiety levels. The World Health Organization has stressed on the need to focus on mental health, as the epidemic affects both young and old. One of the biggest challenges is that the situation has no precedent. This has led to the creation of uncertainty and doubt. The current study focusses on studying the positive mental health of the Indian population. For the study, the researchers have restricted the scope to include only Generation Y and Generation Z, as they form a majority of the working population and literature suggests that negative moods, stressors and apprehensions are far more prevalent among the younger sections of the society. The findings suggest that positive mental health is not dependent on gender or age. However, some of the dimensions do show significant variance. The researchers have also proposed a model of Positive Mental Health based on the dimensions of the Positive Mental Health Instrument.
:Universities across the world have now started focusing on creating and nurturing academic researchers. While the importance and benefits of a strong research mindset have been understood, the process of identifying and developing researchers lacks a sense of structure. The current study attempts at filling this gap by proposing and testing the Academic Research Aptitude Scale. The scale was created and tested using the DeVellis (2016) method. The initial pool of items consisted of 29 items that were generated in the course of a brainstorming session. The discussion with experts and literature review resulted in a 22-item instrument which was then reduced to 21 items, post the item analysis. The analysis was carried out on a sample of 303 research scholars and researchers. The exploratory factor analysis helped in the identification of the dimensions and the same was then checked using confirmatory factor analysis. The scale fulfilled the validity requirements and showed high reliability, as shown by Cronbach's alpha score. The final scale consists of 21 items. The current study explores the impact of COVID-19 related distress factors on the mental well-being of college students. For the purpose of the study, mental well-being is measured through the depression symptoms and general anxiety levels of the students. The study used judgemental sampling to identify the respondents of the study. The final sample consisted of 147 respondents and the data was analysed on SPSS. The results suggested that while COVID-19 distress factors were not significant in predicting the level of depression symptoms experienced by the students, the general anxiety levels were significantly impacted by the distress factors. The findings are particularly useful for the teachers and institutions working to connect and teach through online platforms.
Un gran desafío para los formadores y profesores de hoy en día es atraer y retener la atención de los estudiantes y participantes. En la era de las redes sociales y los teléfonos inteligentes, los estudiantes tienen varias cosas que pueden distraerlos durante el proceso de aprendizaje y la responsabilidad de encontrar formas de involucrarlos de manera efectiva recae en el maestro. Con base en una revisión de la literatura sobre desarrollos tecnológicos, los investigadores del presente estudio proponen el uso de multimedia de animación de pizarra como una herramienta para mejorar la experiencia de aprendizaje. En el presente estudio se evalúa la efectividad de esta técnica a través de un diseño de grupo control pretest postest y la muestra conformada por estudiantes del curso de maestría en administración de empresas. Los hallazgos brindan evidencia empírica que respalda el uso de videos de animación de pizarra para complementar el aprendizaje en el aula.
