The management of marine waste is an increasingly complex issue facing the world today. Our study provides an interesting take on the issue of marine waste by examining how Indonesian indigenous communities can deal with plastic marine pollution. While there is an obvious need for mitigating plastic use, for effective legislative policies regulating plastic waste management, and to do more to develop sustainable waste management practices; there are also opportunities for indigenous communities to take an innovative approach by using plastic waste in a manner that drives economic development from both non-market and neoliberal theoretical ideologies. As part of this assessment, alongside Indonesian examples we include examples of plastic re-use by indigenous communities of the Philippines and Australia. Moreover, our study highlights some of the areas in which this is being done in the fields of art and infrastructure development.
-This paper presents the reader with the complete analysis of speaker recognition system with the explanation of each step with their necessity of existence. Every speaker recognition system comprises broadly of two phases namely the enrollment phase and the verification phase. The system in its first phase uses the record function for collecting the voices of different speakers and save them.Later these voices can be used to form a codebook and compare the voice with that in the enrollment phase. Enrollment phase either use feature extraction coefficients(like MFCCs,LPCCs,LPCs etc.)or speaker models like GMM,LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis) or Factor Analysis(FA)techniques for extracting the features to serve as an identity of the speaker. The verification phase is simply the phase in which the voices in the enrollment and this phase are tested for the likelihood between them and then identify the speaker on the basis of the likelihood ratio.
Present study aimed to construct a “Stress Scale for Caretakers of Mentally Disabled Children”. 48 items from the preliminary draft of 70 items, having difficulty index of .17 or above and discrimination index of .16 were selected for the final scale. Validity of the scale was ascertained by Pearson r, which was .96. Reliability of the scale as determined by split half method was .94. Seven areas of stress were taken. The standardization sample constituted of 300 caretakers of children with different neuro-developmental disability.
Adolescence is a transition period in which many changes take place. It may be physical, psychological or emotional changes. The sample consisted of 60 students (30 Boys, 30 Girls). Tests used were Subjective Happiness Scale of Lyubomirsky, S., & Lepper, H. (1999) and Adjustment Inventory for school students (AISS) by A.K.P Sinha and R.P Singh (1971). After the data collection raw score were analysed using t test. Results revealed that the girls have a better adjustment than boys. There is a significant relationship between the total School adjustment of Girls and boys.
