This study attempted to explore the distribution of primary schools and the predictive ownership of primary school teachers in Tanzania's Mainland. The dataset used in this study was collected in 2016 by the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics. To attain the objectives of this study the descriptive statistical analysis and logistic regression model were adopted. A total of 17,094 schools were included in the study. The findings revealed that there was an unequal distribution of primary schools as well as primary school teachers in Tanzania's Mainland. Tanga was the region with many government primary schools (992) and Dar es Salaam was the region with many non-government schools (245). Katavi was the region with few government primary schools (175) and non-government schools (2). There were more permanent female teachers (104052) than permanent male teachers (98028) while in the case of the temporary teachers, males (2660) were more than females (1970). Also, the data showed that 94.1% of all schools were owned by the government. The logistic regression results indicated that the permanent female teachers were negatively connected with non-government schools while the permanent and temporary male teachers were likely to be in non-government schools. The logistic regression model successfully predicted the school ownership for 13663 schools with a reasonably high accuracy of 94.75%
This study empirically assesses employment among college students in Tanzania. It examined the effect of age and gender on student employment, the factors that lead employed people to join undergraduate studies, and identified ways that colleges may use to help employed students to succeed in their studies in Tanzania. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews and analyzed quantitatively through descriptive analysis and multiple logistic regression. Logistic regression results showed that the employment probability was steadily increasing between ages 18 to 33, but then after it decreases steadily with age at least after age 34, and the male students had an average chance of employment 2.15 times the chance of female students. Descriptive statistics results showed that the factor that leads employed people to join undergraduate studies were: the need for technical skills, knowledge, exposure, job security, social status, job market, job promotion, get new friends, internal motivation, and unemployment. Also, the results showed that the ways to improve education success among employed students were the introduction of evening courses, student interaction with instructors, offering students access to an academic advisor, career counseling, offering weekend courses, increase the students' assessment criteria’s, involve students in outreach activities, and offering the online courses.
The focus of the study was to assess the implementation of TQM and the performance of the banking institutions in Tanzania. The study was conducted at CRDB bank headquarters. The study intended to examine the impacts of implementation of TQM on the performance of the bank, analyse the effects of employee involvement in TQM on the performance of the bank and evaluate the effects of management leadership in TQM on the performance of the bank. A case study research design was used with a sample of 80 respondents utilising questionnaires, interviews and documentary review. The collected data were analysed quantitatively through descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression model. The study found that implementation of TQM facilitates the increase of both employees’ and bank performance as well as service quality. Moreover, the study found that employee involvement in the implementation of TQM helps to provide training that supports to increase the performance of the bank. The study also found that management leadership in TQM helps in decision making which increases bank performance. The study concluded that the implementation of TQM facilities increases employees’ performance which results into increase in bank performance, and helps to reduce costs associated with bank operations which leads to the increase in bank performance
