Proses keperawatan merupakan suatu metode perencanan dan pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan yang tahapnya dilakukan dengan sistematis dan rasional dengan tujuan menangani masalah kesehatan pasien. Komunikasi dalam bidang keperawatan adalah merupakan suatu dasar dan kunci dari seorang perawat dalam menjalankan tugas-tugasnya. Komunikasi merupakan suatu proses untuk menciptakan hubungan antara perawat dan klien serta dengan tenaga kesehatan lainnya. komunikasi terapeutik adalah pengiriman pesan antara pengirim dan penerima dengan interaksi diantara keduanya yang bertujuan untuk memulihkan kesehatan seseorang yang sedang sakit. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi dengan penerapan teknik komunikasi terapeutik oleh perawat di ruang rawat inap rumah sakit umum YARSI Pontianak. Jenis penelitian deskriptif analitik korelasional, dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 30 orang yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Hasil uji statistik mengunakan uji fisher menunjukan hubungan antara motivasi dengan penerapan teknik komunikasi terapeutik oleh perawat di ruang rawat inap rumah sakit umum YARSI Pontianak (p=0,004). Hasil penelitian didapatkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi dengan penerapan teknik komunikasi terapeutik oleh perawat di ruang rawat inap rumah sakit umum YARSI Pontianak
