The objective of this current research was examining EFL students' point of views on their teachers' TPACK (technological pedagogical content knowledge). A growing body of research had been conducted to investigate instructors' TPACK. However, few research have addressed the evaluation of TPACK from the perspective of EFL students. The students’ view offers a relatively objective perspective of instructors' TPACK to provide valuable feedback for further evaluation on their classroom practice. A survey method was employed by administered a TPACK student-based questionnaire adapted from Tseng (2014). The respondents were English education department students who had experience studying with technology, especially e-learning in the midst of pandemic. The findings showed that EFL students typically thought their teachers were knowledgeable about certain aspects of TPACK. Nevertheless, it was discovered that CK instructors were regarded as the greatest aspect of TPACK, whereas TK domain was thought to be the least important aspect. The results suggested that EFL teachers may need further TPACK training to attain the competency needed to properly incorporate technology more successfully in English lessons.
Since the IELTS test demands high English proficiency, it has become a challenge for Indonesian learners who are non-native English speakers. IELTS requires a thorough knowledge of English grammar to make the test takers able to gain high scores. The test-takers, who are mostly graduate students from various backgrounds, frequently join IELTS preparation classes. The previous research mainly focused on how teaching grammar is essential for students who want to take IELTS. Yet, the research about developing the syllabus for IELTS preparation classes has not been discussed much in Indonesia, making the information limited. Therefore, developing the syllabus for IELTS-based grammar is critically important since it assists the teacher in fulfilling students’ expectations and increases the student’s understanding of mastering English language skills. The current study aims at developing an IELTS-based syllabus for grammar to equip both students and teachers. The study adopted the developmental research proposed by Borg and Gall (2003). The syllabus was designed based on environment and need analysis obtained through interviews, placement tests, IELTS simulations, and questionnaires. The outcome is a three-part syllabus equipped with various learning activities to motivate and facilitate students to improve their grammar and ability to achieve higher IELTS scores.
This study aims to develop the appropriate learning multimedia named G-Smartive (Getting Smart in Narrative) that provides the interesting components, learning materials, and applies game-based learning. It uses as aid to learn reading especially narrative text for tenth graders of Vocational High School. The method of this study was developmental research model purposed by [1]. The steps were need analysis, product development, expert validation, first revision, product try-out, final revision, and final product. The participant of this study was X KJB students in SMK PGRI 3 Malang. The instruments used were need analysis questionnaire, validation sheet, and questionnaire for product try-out. The data was analysed quantitatively. Regarding the result of need analysis and document analysis, G-Smartive presented three main materials which were reading comprehension, language feature, and vocabulary category. The result of validation showed that G-Smartive was suitable and appropriate to use for tenth grade students, but it needed some revisions. The research finding showed that all the aspects were in good category. The product also got the positive response from the students. G-Smartive gave contributions in supporting language learning, increasing the students’ language proficiency, and making the process of acquisition easier, and more interesting.
