BackgroundMumps, an infectious viral disease, classically manifested by inflammation of salivary glands and is best known as a common childhood viral disease with no specific treatment. Although it can be protected by vaccine, there are more than 100,000 reported mumps cases according to the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. However, the factors and mechanisms behind the persistence and prevalence of mumps have not been well understood.MethodsA mumps model with seasonal fluctuation is formulated and investigated. We evaluate the basic reproduction number ℛ0 and analyze the dynamical behavior of the model. We also use the model to simulate the monthly data of mumps cases and carry out some sensitivity analysis of ℛ0 in terms of various model parameters.ResultsIt is shown that there exists only disease-free solution which is globally asymptotically stable if ℛ0 < 1, and there exists a positive periodic solution if ℛ0 > 1. ℛ0 is a threshold parameter, and its magnitude determines the extinction or persistence of the disease.ConclusionOur analysis shows that vaccination rate and invalid vaccination rate play important roles in the spread of mumps. Hence, Our study suggests to increase the vaccine coverage and make two doses of MMR (Measles, mumps and rubella vaccine) vaccine freely available in China.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), a treasure for the Chinese people, has demonstrated its favorable therapeutic effect on treating diseases. Although regarded as an alternative medicine, TCM has witnessed its increasing popularity worldwide. In order to make TCM better known to the world, it is imperative to train more qualified translators so that they can play a better role in bridging TCM and the world. This paper, therefore, by means of summarizing the common mistakes in TCM translation, centers on analyzing the qualifications that determine a qualified translator of TCM.
This paper analyzes the current status of language service industry, professional translation teaching and the existing problems. The purpose of this paper, correspondingly, aims to make some explorations for translation professionalization in universities where the traditional translation teaching cannot adapt to the demanding needs of the language service industry and the real-world applications. Based on the analysis of the market-oriented and technology-based industry, this paper puts forward the corresponding professional teaching objectives and focuses prominently on approaches to professional translation teaching, that is, cooperate with industry experts to conduct industry-university-research cooperation and professional teacher training to better stimulate students' motivation.
This article first reviewed the history and present situation of TCM health preservation culture in Shaanxi province, and analyzed several problems that Shaanxi tourism industry of TCM preservation health culture faces. Based on these problems, the author put forward "going out" paths of Shaanxi tourism industry of TCM preservation health culture. The purpose of this paper aims to make some explorations for the development of tourism industry of TCM health preservation culture in tourism 4.0 era driven by One Belt, One Road initiative.
Success legal translation involves a lot of factors, such as accuracy, being professional and impartiality. Law of the People's Republic of China on Traditional Chinese Medicine proposed and published by the Chinese government is a landmark for the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Chinese-English version of the law has reiterated the significance. However, the translation version is undermined by some mistakes, such as inappropriate use of words, grammatical mistakes and inadequate translation. By collecting and analyzing the translation problems in the English version, this paper emphasizes that in the process of training translators, language proficiency and professional knowledge should be prioritized.
