Educating students from an early age to have ecological awareness and not to damage the earth is one alternative to reduce global warming. The purpose of this study is to find things that need to be developed in environmentally-friendly education as a solution to global warming. The type of this research model is a descriptive qualitative study. The research was conducted at Sekolah Alam Lampung, Indonesia. Based on observations and interviews, it has been found that the school has implemented a strict learning and disciplinary curriculum. The output is expected for the students to self-managing waste and separating organic and non-organic waste bins that have been provided. The non-organic and recycled organic waste could be made into compost. They also plant and care for vegetables and trees in the green laboratory provided. The activity of the Sekolah Alam Lampung is an alternative solution to the environmental crisis regarding global warming, which is now increasingly severe and contributes conceptually to overcome the global warming, which has been a global issue.
The aim of this study was to compare the Indonesian and Thai novice science teacher students in content of science on environmental conservation based on local wisdom of Baduy's society. The subjects were 71 of Indonesian and 95 of Thai novice science teacher students. The results showed that mean score of Indonesian novice science teacher students had slightly better than those Thai novice science teacher students in content of science, but not significantly differences at .05 level of statistics. It can be concluded that there is no significantly differences between the average content of science between Indonesian and Thai novice science teacher students.
The research explores the indigenous knowledge of Java north coast community in Java Island, Indonesia. The research is carried out with prospective science teachers employing the Science Integrated Learning (SIL) model. The method adopted is descriptive research. The correlation test resulted in the sig. value < 0,05; therefore, there is a connection between the prospective science teachers' ability in exploring the indigenous knowledge and the science content development skills. It concludes that the explored indigenous knowledge using the SIL model is effective for science content development. The exploration results are useful for developing science content.
The aim of this study was to determine the influence of guided inquiry learning model toward the improvement of students"s scientific literacy in integrated science learning on environmental conservation concept based on local wisdom of Baduy"s society. This study used Research and Development method through pretest and posttest test before and after the guided inquiry learning was done. The objects of this study were 31 students who were following the integrated science lecture in 5 th semester which is prospective science teacher. The results showed that there was an improvement in students' scientific literacy after guided inquiry learning (was applied) as shown with a gain value of 0.16 (N-Gain = 0.16) which was included in the medium category. Based on this result, it can be concluded that there is the influence of guided inquiry learning model toward the improvement of students"s scientific literacy in integrated science learning on environmental conservation concept based on local wisdom of Baduy"s society.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
