Selected vanadium-base alloys have been investigated as to tensile and creep strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal conductivity at elevated temperatures for the purpose of making a preliminary evaluation of suitability for use as fuel-element jacketing materials for sodium-cooled reactors. Results indicate the preliminary feasibility of these alloys from all viewpoints under examination and suggest the desirability of studying fabrication proHem.s of alloys and improved reduction methods for vanadium m.etal.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
