The aim of the current study was to carry out a retrospective analysis of heavy metal (Pb, Cd, and Hg) levels in liver and kidney of 38 dogs living in an urban habitat (city of Naples). Tissues were homogenized, digested in a microwave digestion system, and analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometry. The results of\ud
this study showed generally low levels of heavy metals in tissues of all examined dogs; only mercury concentrations in kidneys of pet dogs were higher than in stray dogs, and no significant age-dependent differences in metal levels were shown between the two groups. In conclusion, these results suggest the involvement of ad hoc-formulated pet food exposure to heavy metals in domestic animals
Palabras Claves: PALS, DFT, defectos, aglomeración de vacancias Using Positron-annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) detailed experimental information about electronic and atomic structure of a solid can be obtained. PAS measurements generally use three techniques. Positron lifetime measurements give information about electron density at the annihilation place. On the other hand, Doppler broadening and angular correlation measurements give information about electron momentum distribution. So, the electronic configuration of the material studied is reflected in the positron annihilation parameters. In this work, we study the vacancy clustering process in pure metals using ab-initio calculations....
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
