Resumo-O modelo ITU-R para o cálculo da atenuação por chuva necessário em projetos de redes e sistemas de comunicação sem fio que operam acima de 10GHz tais como: radioenlace, sistemas de comunicação via satélite, etc.; considera a taxa de chuva que excede a 0,01% de um ano médio no percurso do enlace. A recomendação ITU-R 837.6 estima esta taxa em dado ponto a partir de um modelo que considera a precipitação média anual.Neste trabalho, utiliza-se esse modelo para gerar mapas de contorno da taxa de chuva a partir dos dados de precipitação acumulada em 12 pontos de coleta no Estado do Maranhão. Palavras-Chave-Propagação, métodos de predição, efeitos de precipitação, atenuação.Abstract-The ITU -R model to calculate the attenuation by rain needed in network design and wireless communication systems operating above 10GHz such as radio link of satellite communication systems , etc .; considers the rain rate that exceeds 0.01% of an average year in the link path. The ITU-R recommendation 837.6 estimated this rate at a given point from a model that considers the average annual rainfall.In this work, this is used to generate model rain rate contour maps from the accumulated rainfall data in 12 collection points in the state of Maranhão.
