In the conditions of the modern labour market, there is a need to determine the relevant competencies of the future specialist, IT specialist in particular. Currently, for more successful professional activities of a modern IT specialist, such competencies are important: professional and so-called “soft-skills”, namely interpersonal and communicative skills. The research purpose is to determine the relevant/significant and irrelevant/insignificant basic professional, interpersonal and communicative competencies of an IT specialist using the questionnaire method. The questionnaire analysis is practical for compiling modern educational programs and designing innovative methods in the field of information technology training. This work is carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan grant project “Developing and implementing the innovative competency-based model of multilingual IT specialist in the course of national education system modernization”.
Globalization is a fact in our era arising from many various factors. The process and results of this phenomenon affect each nation, community and almost every single person somehow in almost all spheres. The current stage of development is characterized by the formation of the global challenges facing society, civilization as a whole, which inevitably impacts on the state of education. The demand of transition to a new Kazakhstan educational paradigm is a target for the implementation of competence-based approach. The study is dedicated to the logical, conceptual approach towards understanding of cognition, language and culture, which can be found in the fundamental works of researches on competency-based approach. Moreover, this paper describes the nature, mechanism and importance of forming intercultural-communicative competence of future specialists. This research is carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan grant project “Developing and implementing the innovative competency-based model of multilingual IT specialist in the course of national education system modernization”.
Currently, the effectiveness of using the debate method in teaching English is obvious. Since language is a mean of communication, debate contributes to the development of communicative competency, which plays an important role in the successful work of a specialist in various fields. This article focuses on the method of debate, as one of the communication activity types. The debate method can be used to improve students’ communication skills, allowing them to use linguistic knowledge as a functional competency in a structured (less structured) situation or in the context of a language education. The purpose of this article is to describe the debate method as a productive strategy for teaching communicative competency while teaching English as a foreign language. This research is carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan grant project “Developing and implementing the innovative competency-based model of multilingual IT specialist in the course of national education system modernization”.
