Greengram or mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] is a vital crop grown throughout Asia, Australia, West Indies, South and North America, tropical and subtropical Africa. India accounts for 54 per cent of the world production and covers 65 per cent of the world acreage.
