RESUMENLos sistemas expertos han sido durante los años 80 el logro más frecuentemente exhibido de la Inteligencia Artificial. Sin embargo, su empleo no ha alcanzado los niveles pronosticados por algunos. En este trabajo se intentan analizar las causas de ello, poniéndolas en relación con las limitaciones inherentes a este enfoque de los procesos cognitivos.ABSTRACTExpert systems have been the most frequently mentioned archievement of Artificial Intelligence. However, these systems have not been applied at the level foreseen by some researchers.
