The food and beverage industry has an important role to play in the Indonesian economy. This industry's contribution to the GDP of the non-oil and gas industry reaches almost 34 percent and absorbs a lot of labor. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the strategy of strengthening the food and beverage industry which can improve the performance and competitiveness of Indonesia's food and beverage industry sector. The approach used is a descriptive approach. The results of the analysis show that for some food commodities have a low competitiveness, while the beverage industry which is dominated by soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, Spirits drinks and Beer has an increasing trend. To improve the competitiveness and performance of Indonesian food and beverage products, the government has carried out several policies, but not yet optimal. The strengthening effort that must be made by the Government is to increase exports to non-optimal markets (Untapped Market Countries). In addition, for the development of small and medium industries, the industrial sector also needs fiscal incentives as well as increased industrial technology capabilities.
AbstractTextile and Textile Product (TPT) are the main export products of Indonesia and Vietnam. This study examined the competitiveness of Indonesian and Vietnamese TPT in the US and PRC markets by using the CMSA, RCA methods and the Fixed Effect Model. The result showed TPT products from Indonesia and Vietnam do not have strong competitiveness in the PRC market, but they are highly competitive in the US market. The TPT export from Vietnam is mostly concentrated in the PRC market, while TPT from Indonesia was in the US market. Indonesian TPT is able to adapt in both PRC and US markets, while the Vietnamese TPT is only able to adapt in the PRC market. The competitiveness of Indonesian and Vietnamese TPT in the US and PRC markets is strongly influenced by the home country's FDI manufacturing. Indonesia's TPT competitiveness is strongly influenced by the GDP of the destination country, while Vietnam is strongly influenced by the factors of real exchange rates, tarrif, GDP of destination countries and Vietnam's FDI manufacturing. To improve the competitiveness of TPT export, Indonesia needs to give a great concern toward FDI manufacture and GDP of US and PRC.

At present the development of financial technology (fintech) in Indonesia is very fast, many nonbank companies practice as fintech executors who channel loans to the public or Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs), this has the potential to lead to illegal banking practices (shadow banking). The next problem is how the government makes rules that can synergize fintech with the business world, banking, SMEs and others. In the future, it is expected that Fintech will play an active role in encouraging the export of the SME sector which is Indonesia's flagship sector. In this study a qualitative descriptive approach was used, which emphasized the discussion by examining the role of fintech to encourage the export of small and medium industries in Indonesia. Data sources that can be used are data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia and various relevant data sources. Fintech is currently very helpful in helping the financial literacy of the Indonesian people including SMEs as a mainstay of increasing exports in Indonesia. Several obstacles to the spread of the role of fintech continue to be overcome through various means including infrastructure improvements, socialization and financial literacy to the public and SMEs and fintech regulatory policies. The government needs to make harmonious rules to grow and to avoid risks in the financial services industry. This is crucial because the development of fintech in Indonesia is very fast. Licensing for the establishment of fintech companies from other countries must be monitored.
