Terasi is one of the fermented product of shrimp or fish which is often used as food seasoning by the people. Terasi is also a source of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) which has the potential as a culture for probiotic starters. Probiotics are dietary supplements containing live microbes that profitable to their hosts. This study aimed to identify probiotic lactic acid bacteria isolated from terasi of shrimp based on the 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid (rRNA) gene sequence. LAB isolation from terasi was done by pour plate method using selective medium, MRSA (Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar). The identification of LAB in this study used a method of molecular with a marker gene of 16S rRNA. A total of 3 isolates were obtained from the isolation process. All LAB isolates are rod (Basil) positive Gram bacteria, negative catalase. Two isolates (TR 1 and TR 2) were identified as Enterococcus faecalis. While one more isolate (TR 3) were identified as Weissella cibaria.
Cities are centers of high natural resource utilization activities that contribute to the development of global environmental issues. Urban planning should be integrated with environmental planning in order to achieve sustainable development. This study aims to examine the position of the ecological urban concept in the concept of city ecology and sustainable cities. The method used in this study is a literature review of publications related to the concept of ecocity, urban ecology and sustainable city. The concept of green city development seeks to answer the issue of climate change through adaptation and mitigation actions, through attributes: green planning and design, green open space, green waste, green transportation, green water, green energy, green building, and green community.
Food is a basic need for human life. Various types of food are consumed with various ways of processing. There are so many things that can cause a food to be unsafe, one of which is due to contamination. Contamination that occurs in food and beverages can cause food to become a medium for disease. Thus, community efforts to be able to maintain food health and safety need to be increased through the application of hygiene and sanitation. Based on the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 942/Menkes/SK/VII/2003 concerning Guidelines for Snack Food Sanitation Hygiene Requirements, several aspects are regulated in the handling of snack food, namely food handlers, equipment, water, food ingredients, food additives, serving and peddlers. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of the implementation of hygiene and sanitation of snack products in the Universitas Negeri Padang campus canteen. This research is a descriptive observational study with a quantitative approach using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the level of implementation of hygiene and sanitation regarding the selection of materials and sanitation of equipment is in the excellent category, while the level of knowledge about food processing and food serving is in the range category good to excellent category.
Benoa Bay is part of the waters of Bali which contributes very positively to the Balinese people, especially to the surrounding community, especially in maintaining the stability of various ecosystems and hydrology as well as its contribution in providing protection, economic, and socio-cultural services for the local community. Proper management of the Benoa Bay area will be able to minimize the risks that will occur. Therefore, good management of coastal and marine areas is needed through an integrated management program that is supported by the availability of objective, accurate, and up-to-date information sources. This study was carried out by collecting literature from relevant research on reclamation in Benoa Bay. The results of the study found that PT. Tirta Wahana Bali International (PT. TWBI) as the holder of the Benoa Bay Utilization and Development permit will develop the Benoa Bay area including (1) Pudut Island Restoration; (2) Firsherman's Cove; (3) Botanical Garden, meanwhile the Benoa Bay area is a center of biodiversity and there is a high and complete diversity of ecosystems, namely; Ecosystems of mangroves, coral reefs, seagrass beds, andtidal flats. This illustrates that integrated management must and immediately be carried out to assist in the formulation of policies and planning for the management of coastal and marine areas that are more effective and targeted so that there are no mistakes in policy making that lead to social conflicts. Keywords: Benoa Bay, ecosystem diversity, integrated program, policy
