Seam quality is determined by the correlation between types of fabric, structures of fabric, sewing threads and selection of stitches and seams. The performance of seam also depends on the sewing conditions like size of needle, sewing thread tension, stitches per inch and lastly on the proper working and maintenance of the stitching machine. The objective of present study is to investigate and scrutinize the impact of weft knitted fabric structures, sewing thread types and stitch types on seam strength and efficiency of superimposed type of seam for cotton apparels. An experimental design was employed for the study which includes two types of sewing thread and four classes of stitch. The seam strength and efficiency of the fabric were determined by using the tensile testing machine. Seam strength have been measured and analyzed both in course and wales directions. The results revealed that differences existed between the two different thread in relation with seam strength and seam efficiency. Polyester-wrapped threads with a polyester filament core thread shows better seam strength and seam efficiency. This study also assists garment manufacturers to utilize suitable thread type and stitch type to reach quality seams to get to know customers' requirements in terms of seam.
Textile manufacturing is a complex process and it is affected by various parameters. Most of the defect in the fabric is either highlighted or covered in especially in dyeing department. We are follow in this experiment is to identify the important objectionable defect in the terry towel produced in the winch Thies dyeing machine. This research work is done for preventing the defect in processing & weaving department (excluding spinning department). This study aims to report a root cause analysis of the major defect. This study helps in root cause analysis of the entire process in reducing the defect. It has been reported by many others that careful consideration of process parameter helps technical person to ensure the same faults do not occurs. This study reviles important process parameters such as pretreatment and its effect on absorbency to make uniform dyeing. This study tries to found the terry towel dyeing defect such as uneven dyeing, staining, lintting, shearing, bowing and holes and how we can minimize and neglect this faults to taking remedies. This report contains work done by various workers and technician in dyeing. Experiment conducted in "Thies" dyeing machine clearly shows how to reduce major objectionable defect in terry towel dyeing. This report contains the important content of parameters and their effect in the reducing the defect significantly. This project is able to give a deep concept about terry towel dyeing faults in soft flow dyeing machine, causes and their remedies and carried out to minimize the dyeing defect by taking particular corrective action Thus, this study enrich knowledge on dyeing, produce faults free terry towel in modern textile plant.
use new technology by creating infrastructure, goods, and services for only small percentage of the Engineers and professional are able to meet this expectation since there is wide gap between Industry and academy in India. Almost 90% need training and work exposure.Growth of nation is measured in terms of annual GDP. India has to go for large scale manufacturing in Engineering Industries. To support this India is promoting investment in infrastructure development, application of electronic, computer & IT in all sectors to promote Engineering Industries. Any new Technology application needs Trained Technical man power. Establishment of new Industries needs large pool of trained technical personnel's. Hence large no of educational Institutes are established with private sector participation. These educational institute need to associate with Industry for practical exposure to develop basic technical knowledge in students to work in different Technology and projects. Hence create an opportunity for their talent pool in the country by Industry -Institute linkage. Industry -Institute linkageTo bridge the gap between Industry and education it is proposed to seek cooperation in following area: To impart basic knowledge to the technical graduates to work in present technologyMethodology: To develop curriculum to impart basic practical knowledge during the course curriculum to work in different profession Viz , Research and Development / Production /Planning/ Design and Development /Maintenance/Marketing and servicing.Expected outcome; Students will know about their profession, opportunity in their profession and hence develop skills required for employment in these sectors. Development of the knowledge centers in campus to give practical exposure to present Science & Technology developments by formulating training program with industry to produce skilled technical personnel with core competency in their subject to match industry requirementMethodology: To impart practical knowledge to students by using the existing laboratory to develop skills required in application of the present Technology in the different Domain. Hence, Development of the knowledge centers in campus by Industry association for skill development programs to student to work in present core domain of the Industry.Expected results: Development of the Technical personnel's with core competency. Academy -industry collaboration for industry research and academic excellenceMethodology: Higher studies programs for innovative research: Higher studies in foreign universities collaboration. Foreign university internship, Students exchange program. Staff exchange program. Promotion of Innovative Industry research in developed country and Institutes of Higher standards in academic research in collaboration with Industry. Transfer of technology to industry by industry-institute collaborative educational training program.Methodology: Mentoring of the student's projects to develop Innovative Research /Product/Technology /Processes by association of Teachers with Ind...
This study is aim to standardize the process parameter is desizing, scouring and bleaching and come out with the best practice in chemical consumption in pretreatment of terry towel. The determination of the pretreatment performance because of desizing, scouring and bleaching chemical concentration. The careful consideration of process parameter in pretreatment helps the wet processing industry to ensure the application of standard concentration of the chemical during processing. The concentration of alkali use in the pretreatment of cotton is represented by many researches. In this process by varying the chemical concentration, time and temperature, we obtain good result. This particular research on the reduction of the total chemical consumptions, time and temperature. The results were found to promising and comparable to that conventional pretreatment fabric which is performing in terry towel industry. The aim of this project work is to develop less consumption of chemical pretreatment method which can produce similar desizing efficiency, whiteness index, and absorbency of the fabric. In this study we found reduction of pollution load associated with excessive usage of chemical in standard conventional pretreatment process. It was found that with the reduction of caustic, stabilizer and Hydrogen Peroxide concentration performance of pretreatment become better. Effect of the above process by reducing chemical consumptions in desizing scouring, bleaching (pretreatment) of terry towel fabric in soft-flow Thies machine which gives good results and better absorbency, bleaching efficiency and whiteness index of bleached fabric which have been studied in this work.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
