Schwannoma is common intracranial tumor. They are benign tumor arising from Cranial nerves or peripheral nerves. Majority of these tumors occur at Cerebellopontine angle. 54-year right handed lady presented with history of progressive loss of vision on both eyes for last five years. It started on her left eye initially pronounced on lateral field which gradually progressed to involve right eye. MRI of brain showed a well-defined mass of size 39*35*29mm in sellar region extending to suprasellar region with T1 is intensity and T2 hyperintensity. Endonasal trans-sphenoidal resection of lesion was done guided by navigation. Surprisingly histopathology turned out to be Schwannoma.
We present a case of solitary vascular tumor on posterior cranial fossa in a 15-year-old female who had a complaint of headache on/off for six months with associated dizziness, nausea, vomiting and vertigo. Well circumscribed solid vascular mass was localized on posterior fossa by computed tomography along with magnetic resonance imaging scan. Furthermore, the diagnosis was confirmed by surgical findings and histological examinations.Nepal Journal of Neuroscience, Vol. 14, No. 2, 2017 Page: 47-50
Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare neoplasm occurring in the central nervous system. It rarely occurs in the spine. SFTs represent a wide range of neoplasm's, ranging from benign to malignant. This case reports on a 51 year- old male with localized solitary fibrous tumor on left para spinal region which was observed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Patient complained a low back pain radiating to left lower limb for successive 10 days. Laboratory investigation such as CBC and renal function test was normal. A Confirmation of patients Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) was done on the basis of surgical, radiological, histological and immunohisto chemical findings.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
