An analysis is presented of the forced vibrations of non-homogeneous rectangular plate of variable thickness on the basis of classical plate theory. The non-homogeneity of the plate material is assumed to arise due to the variation in density which is assumed to vary linearly. The thickness of the plate also varies linearly. Approximate formulae are proposed for estimating the maximum deflection of a rectangular plate subject to a uniformly distributed harmonic lateral load. Maximum deflection for the different values of the fundamental frequency of vibration is computed for a simply supported-free-simply supported-free plate for various values of taper constant, non-homogeneity constant and aspect ratios. Results are presented in graphical form.
In this paper, reactive power cost function has been obtained for generator to supply reactive power based on the operating point of the generators on its capability curve. Based on the reactive power cost functions, a non-linear optimization problem is solved to compute both real and reactive power prices for pool electricity market model considering the minimization of fuel and reactive power cost. A upstream looking algorithm has been used to find the contribution of each generator to the load and the based on proportional sharing the marginal prices at each node have been determined for both real and reactive power to be paid to generators. The results have been determined for IEEE 24 bus test system. The results have been compared for already reported methods to determine reactive power cost.
To date there has been no study of prescribing habits in a psychiatric hospital in Ireland, as has happened elsewhere. In a survey over one weekend at St. Brendan's Hospital, the prescription sheets and case notes of all 772 patients were examined. The principal findings were polypharmacy, the use of benzodiazepines for disturbingly long periods of time, the preponderant prescription of drugs by their proprietary names and the extensive use of neuroleptics for apparently non-psychotic conditions. These results are discussed in the light of other similar surveys.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
