Introduction: The adolescent menarche period has shifted to a younger age because of several factors, including a girl’s nutritional status and exposure to pornographic media. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between pornographic media exposure and nutritional status with the age of menarche in girls in elementary school.Methods: This research used a descriptive cross-sectional design. 121 respondents were selected by proportional random sampling. Nutritional status data was collected by measuring body mass index, while the usage of media exposure and the age of menarche were both identified using questionnaires. All data was analysed using the chi-square test.Results: There was a significant relationship between the age of menarche with the exposure to mass media (p=0.000) and nutritional status (p=0.000).Conclusion: The age of menarche in adolescent girls is associated with nutritional status and media exposure.
Background: The increasing number of the teenager’s sexual behavior in Indonesia is influenced by many factors. The purpose of this study was to determine factors associated with sexual behavior of Senior High Schools in Bukittinggi. Aims & Objectives: This study is aimed to determine the factors which are associated with the sexual behavior of high school teenagers in Bukittinggi. Material & Methods: This study was a correlation study with the simple random sampling of 360 adolescent. This research was conducted in February to August 2017. Data analysis uses chi-square. Results: The results of data analysis of factors related to the sexual behavior of high risk are gender (p = 0.000, OR = 0.124), knowledge (p = 0.000, OR = 0.392), attitude (p = 0.000, OR = 2.529), exposure sources information (p = 0.000, OR = 12.405) and peers (p = 0.000, OR = 8.711). Conclusion: Exposure to sources of information (p = 0.000, OR = 8.544) become the dominant factor associated with high-risk sexual behavior of teenagers high schools in the city of Bukittinggi. It is suggested to the schools to provide the student with the extra material about health and sexual behavior in any subjects related to health.
The number of juvenile delinquency continues to increase, it can be seen from the high number of brawls, drugs and illegal racing carried out by teenagers. Some of the influencing factors are self-control and spirituality. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between self-control and spirituality with juvenile delinquency. The research design used a cross sectional study method with a sample of 175 teenagers at Di Kota Padang, using a stratified random sampling technique. This research was conducted in January - July 2022. The measuring instruments used were self-control questionnaires, DSES (Daily Spiritual Experience Scale) and juvenile delinquency. Data processing was carried out using the chi-square method. The results of this study indicate that most (54.9%) of respondents have a good spirituality level and most (65.7%) of respondents have less self-control and most (58.3%) of respondents commit juvenile delinquency, there is a significant relationship between self-control and juvenile delinquency (p-value = 0,037) and a significant relationship between spirituality and juvenile delinquency (p-value = 0,022). The results of this study expect the school to hold extracurricular activities that generate interest for teenagers both in the field of sports and religion which is balanced by completing adequate facilities and infrastructure so that teenagers avoid the bad effects of juvenile delinquency.
The use of digital technology is a general term that includes various devices, services, and types of use. This study aims to determine the relationship between psychological conditions and gadget addiction in adolescents in Padang City. This research uses a cross sectional study design which will be conducted from April to September 2021. This research was conducted in the community. Instrument. The sample in this study used an Acidal sampling technique with a purpose sampling technique of 244 respondents. The results showed that they were female (71.3%), more than half of the respondents were in their late teens (64.4%). addicted to online games, most of the respondents experience online game addiction as much as 54.5%. the relationship between the level of anxiety with online game addiction in respondents who experience severe anxiety mostly experience online game addiction as much as 72.2%. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as reference data or comparisons for research related to factors that influence depression in adolescents.
