Quinoline is an important heterocyclic scaffold which is found in a variety of natural compounds
(cinchona alkaloids) and therapeutically active drugs with various biological functions. Because of its
varied chemical and pharmacological characteristics, quinoline and its derivatives have long drawn
the attention of both synthetic and biological chemists. A newer class of quinoline-isatin tethered
1,2,3-triazole conjugates was synthesized in this context, using copper-promoted click chemistry with
various organic systems. Ten derivatives of 1,2,3-triazole-tethered 8-hydroxyquinoline and
5-chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives of isatin were synthesized and well characterized by using
analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
