Consider a group of people who are visiting a major touristic city, such as NY, Paris, or Rome. It is reasonable to assume that each member of the group has his or her own interests or preferences about places to visit, which in general may differ from those of other members. Still, people almost always want to hang out together and so the following question naturally arises: What is the best tour that the group could perform together in the city? This problem underpins several challenges, ranging from understanding people’s expected attitudes towards potential points of interest, to modeling and providing good and viable solutions. Formulating this problem is challenging because of multiple competing objectives. For example, making the entire group as happy as possible in general conflicts with the objective that no member becomes disappointed. In this paper, we address the algorithmic implications of the above problem, by providing various formulations that take into account the overall group as well as the individual satisfaction and the length of the tour. We then study the computational complexity of these formulations, we provide effective and efficient practical algorithms, and, finally, we evaluate them on datasets constructed from real city data
Technologies of renewable energy (RE) play a vital role in increasing economic growth in many countries and present a solution for many social, ecological, and political problems. Though, RE faces many barriers that prevent its development. So, these barriers are ranked and identified in this work, including five main barriers and fifteen sub barriers. In addition, five strategies are identified and ranked. The first step in this work, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach used to rank main and sub barriers under Single Valued Neutrosophic Sets (SVNSs). Then Neutrosophic Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) approach assessed the five strategies. The outcomes of this work show that Commercial barriers ranked as the highest barriers and social-ecological ranked as the lowest barriers by using the AHP approach. Outcomes by neutrosophic TOPSIS show that capital assistant ranked as the highest strategies and RE goals ranked as the lowest strategies. This work can help decision-makers, governments for building a RE by using these strategies to overcome barriers that faced them.
ABET accreditation is sought globally for engineering and technology academic programs due to the quality, added value, and competitiveness it adds to students, program, and the university locally, regionally, and globally. Aligning with its mission to prepare students as global citizens for future career aspirations and lifelong learning through quality teaching, the American University in the Emirates (AUE) focuses on outcome-based education to ensure the employability of graduates and hence soon realized the significance of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology-Computing Accreditation Commission (ABET-CAC) standard toward the Computer Science (CS) program. While pursuing ABET accreditation was challenging, the outcome was positive, and currently, the Computer Science Program, with its two specializations in Network Security and Digital Forensics is ABET-accredited. The process required support from all units within the institution and was a great learning experience for all stakeholders. ABET draws generic requirements to be fulfilled by a program seeking accreditation without a detailed procedure to achieve them. However, there is little information about achieving these requirements, especially criterion 4: continuous improvement, which most programs fail to comply with according to ABET. This study presented a comprehensive and reproducible methodology that addresses our successful efforts in aligning the CS program with ABET-CAC requirements by emphasizing criterion 4. This article reported the evaluation of Student Outcomes number one and two for the academic year 2020–2021 through a comprehensive framework. The framework showed data collection, data reporting and analysis, actions, and recommendations for the next academic cycle. The framework showed a mathematical model for calculating the Student Outcomes (SOs) attainment based on the mapped Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). Finally, the recommendations were reported. We believe this article established a solid foundation that would be beneficial for insinuations pursuing ABET accreditation.
Healthcare transformation is becoming one of the highest priorities in a world whereby remarkable advances in technology are taking place. Recent healthcare data fusion management systems are centralized, which possess the probability of failure in case of a natural disaster. Blockchain has expanded fast to be the most widely spoken innovation that could address a large number of present data management problems in the health care sector. The usage of blockchain technology for the distribution of secure and safe health care datasets has received all the attention. This article presents a Bat Optimization Algorithm with Fuzzy Neural Network Based Classification (BOA-FNNC) Model for Blockchain Assisted Healthcare Data Fusion Environment. The presented BOA-FNNC technique mainly focuses on achieving security in the healthcare sector using BC technology. For accomplishing this, the BOA-FNNC technique performs BC assisted data transmission in the medical sector. Besides, the VGG-16 model is exploited for the creation of feature vectors. To classify healthcare data, the BOA with FNN model is utilized in this study, where the BOA fine tune the parameters related to the FNN model which in turn boosts the classifier efficiency. For illustrating the betterment of the BOA-FNNC technique, a series of experiments were performed. The comparison study reported the enhancements of the BOA-FNNC technique over other recent approaches.
This paper briefly introduces the background, significance, and development status of 3D radar technology at home and abroad, and then explains the concept, working principle, system composition, and workflow of the radar system. Combined with the current development trend of smart grids, it focuses on the application scope of this technology in the field of transmission line construction, operation, and maintenance. Then, through the specific implementation of the project cases, the daily operation and maintenance of four 500 kV transmission lines in Nanjing have played a certain guiding role. Finally, according to the development trend of smart grid and the actual demand of power system production and business integration, this paper briefly prospects the function expansion of this technology in transmission line operation evaluation, fault analysis and diagnosis, emergency rescue plan formulation, and other fields.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
