Research on Student Stigma About the rise of students veiling on campus (case study at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science at Teuku Umar University in West Aceh District).The purpose of this study is to familiarize students with stigmatization about the rise of students hiding at Teuku Umar Meulaboh University in the West Aceh district.The nature of this research is descriptive qualitative research, where this research aims to give a true picture, and statement on stigmatization of students Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science at the University of Teuku Umar on rampant students who veiled on their campus.Data collection in this research is done through observation, interview and documentation.The results show that the stigma of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science at the University of Teuku Umar against the veiled students is very positive that the veil has nothing to do with radicalism and terrorism and they accept the presence of students veiling their campus to have.This is because the location of Teuku Umar University in Aceh, which is the area of Islamic sharia and the majority of people accept Islam.Another reason is that there is no specific regulation at Teuku Umar University on how students should apply. The students have to dress politely and neatly.Mutual respect and respect are also the main factors in the non-discrimination of university students.But some students who have veiled at the University of Teuku Umar follow the latest trends. This study aims to find out what messages are contained in the film Dear White People. Peircesemiotics theory is the underlying theory of this research. This theory deals with indentifying,documenting, and classifying the main types of signs and how they are used in representativeactivities. Messages ini movies usually depict events or phenomena that are all around us, suchas warfare, romance, munder, mafia crimes, rasism, anti rasism and more.a good movie is amovie that has the contents of a message that can be used as inspiration by the movie lovers. Amovie can be said to be quality if the theme and content of the message contains a positive andstrong meaning. From the result of this study found that the film Dear White People directed byJustin Simien has a message that oppression, discrimination or exclusion of a group, people orgroups both minority and majority is a form of racism.the struggle against racism bysuppressing the majority with the stereotype that the majority always oppress the minority is anew from of racism.Keywords: Message, Anti Rasisme,Film.
Information is everyone's need, and the right to obtain information is a human right, Law Number 14 of 2008 provides a legal basis for everyone to have the right to obtain public information. PPID plays an important role in service and provision of information, PPID must carry out its role and communication strategy effectively and efficiently in order to realize the implementation of UU KIP. This study uses the Laswell communication model, with field research methods, and qualitative descriptive analysis, interview data collection techniques, observations and complementary data. The research was carried out at the Communication, Information and Encryption Office of West Aceh Regency, specifically the Documentation Information Management Officer (PPID), who appointed 2 informants, namely the head of the Public Communications Division and the Head of the PPID Section. The results of this research explain that the West Aceh District Communication, Information and Encryption Service, which is the Main PPID, has its role in accordance with Law Number 14 of 2008, PPID has carried out its duties, functions and steps in accordance with the requirements of the KIP Law, and regarding operations and the mechanism of Information Services is quite good and satisfactory and facilitates the community. PPID has implemented its communication strategy in socializing to the community by forming the Gampong Information Group (KIG), which is very useful for the community in terms of information services.
The media has now been used by politicians as campaign media to convey persuasive messages to the public. This is because media literacy has become a part of people's lives, so people can easily access information through the media, including information about the potential leaders they will vote for in elections. This study aims to elucidate the influence of the media on opposing political participation in the 2019 parliamentary elections in the cities of Banda Aceh and Meulaboh by questioning informants, including politicians, academics, political observers and the public. From this study, it emerged that the media played a major role in shaping identity politics. The topic of religion and race became the main topic that the media spread in the 2019 parliamentary elections in the cities of Banda Aceh and Meulaboh and that influenced the decision of the people to vote for their top candidates. The increasing role of English in this era of globalization seems to force us to recognize that English has a great impact on all aspects of life, so learning the English language is a must. Previously, studying English at Indonesian universities was limited to General English or English General Purposes, which became general subjects. However, over time, learning English has been developed specifically for English for Specific Purposes. This study is intended to show how the use of English learning at universities, especially in vocational education, works. In this study, the literature study was chosen as the research method. The literature study shows that the use of General English and English for Specific Purposes in higher education is very different. Where there is no special learning material for teaching General English. The learning material usually contains general knowledge of English. Unlike English for Specific Purposes, where teaching English for Specific Purposes requires special materials that are tailored to the needs of students depending on the subject. Sebelumnya di Indonesia, pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di perguruan tinggi hanya sebatas General English atau English for General Purposes yang menjadi mata kuliah umum, namun seiring berjalannya waktu pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dikembangkan lagi secara khusus dalam mata kuliah English for Specific Purposes. Studi ini memiliki tujuan untuk melihat bagaimana penerapan kedua pembelajaran bahasa Inggris tersebut di perguruan tinggi khususnya pada pendidikan vokasi. Studi pustaka dipilih sebagai metode penelitian dalam studi ini. Dari studi kepustakaan tersebut diperoleh hasil bahwa penerapan General English dan English for Specific Purposes di perguruan tinggi sangatlah berbeda antara keduanya. Dimana tidak ada materi pembelajaran khusus terhadap pengajaran General English. Materi pembelajaran biasanya berisikan pengetahuan umum tentang bahasa Inggris. Beda halnya dengan English for Specific Purposes, dimana dalam pengajaran English for Specific Purpose, dibutuhkan materi khusus yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dari mahasiswa sesuai dengan bidang yang mereka ambil.
