Dunia dikejutkan dengan kejadian yang tidak pernah ada sebelumnya. Penyebaran Corona Virus Disease-19 yang berawal dari China begitu cepat menyebar hampir ke seluruh penjuru dunia. Dalam waktu singkat, banyak korban yang meninggal dunia akibat terjangkit virus ini. Guna memutus rantai penyebaran Covid-19, berbagai wilayah melakukan kebijakan untuk melindungi masyarakatnya. Sejak ditetapkan menjadi pandemi, penyebaran Covid-19 berdampak ke segala aspek kehidupan termasuk sosial-ekonomi. Kota Lhokseumawe yang berada pada posisi strategis antara Provinsi Sumatera Utara dan Provinsi Aceh, juga mengeluarkan berbagai kebijakan guna melindungi masyarakatnya dari Covid-19. Lhokseumawe sendiri menjadi zona merah penyebaran Covid-19 sampai dengan Oktober 2020. Secara umum aktivitas masyarakat di Kota Lhokseumawe pasca penyebaran Covid-19 tampak tidak ada perubahan yang berarti terhadap aspek sosial-ekonomi. Untuk itu, penelitian ini dilakukan guna melihat dampak Covid-19 terhadap aspek sosial-ekonomi masyarakat Kota Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan sumber data utama didapatkan dari hasil observasi dan wawancara, sedangkan untuk melengkapi penelitian, digunakan kajian literature yang didapat dari penelitian terdahulu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan, tidak ada perubahan yang berarti terhadap kegiatan sosial-ekonomi masyarakat di Kota Lhokseumawe pada masa Covid-19. Perbedaan sudut pandang dalam cara menangani Covid-19 bagi masyarakat Lhokseumawe menjadi penyebab utama tidak berpengaruhnya Covid-19 terhadap aktivitas sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat.
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi sumber daya manusia dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di desa gunung meriah yang berada di kabupaten Deli Serdang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu penelitian yang tidak menggunakan statistik, seperti metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan data sekunder yang diambil dari BPS Deli Serdang. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari Kepala desa. Hasil menunjukkan dalam upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat Desa Gunung Meriah perlu dilakukan pengelolaan potensi sumber daya manusia, melalui pendekatan subyektif. Pendekatan subyektif adalah pendekatan yang menempatkan manusia sebagai subyek yang mempunyai keleluasaan untuk berinisiatif dan berbuat menurut kehendaknya. Pendekatan ini berasumsi bahwa masyarakat lokal dengan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan kesadarannya dapat meningkatkan peranannya dalam perlindungan sumber daya alam di sekitarnya.
Economic activities carried out by humans affect the surrounding environment. Economic activities by utilizing resources for production and consumption can have both positive and negative impacts on human life. The positive impact that can be directly felt is the fulfillment of the need for goods and services which are strived to continue to increase from year to year. More goods and services being produced and consumed indicates an increase in people's prosperity. Negative impacts are generally not felt directly, namely the emergence of pollution and environmental damage. As a result of environmental pollution reduces the quality of human life which can interfere with daily life. The research method used in this research is library research method. The results show that environmental sustainability is something that is non-negotiable to ensure the economic needs of the present generation without compromising the carrying capacity of the environment for future generations. Protecting the environment is not only needed to limit pollution, but also to ensure eco-efficiency in meeting the needs of the current generation. From the discussion in this research, it can be seen that polluters are not only limited to companies and other individuals, but also the government, for example.

As for the ways and efforts to increase the number of workers at work, there may be several influencing factors including: UMP, GRDP, Investment, Inflation and Exports. The research was conducted to examine the number of workers absorbed in North Sumatra for the 2011-2020 period so that it can be studied. This type of data uses secondary data from BPS, Sakernas (National Labor Force Survey), and the Ministry of Manpower. The method was studied using a quantitative associative approach with multiple linear regression models assisted by the E-views 9.0 computer program. The results of data processing stated that the UMP, Investment and Export had a positive effect. GRDP and Inflation have a negative effect. positive and negative signs on each variable explain that a positive sign if there is an increase in each independent variable has an impact on the increase in the dependent variable and vice versa. Variables that are not significant are UMP, Investment, and Inflation. Meanwhile, the significant variables are GRDP and Exports.
