Background:Prambanan Ekspres Railway is known as one of the commuting modes in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Sufficient egress modes do not support this railway. Due to lack of urban mass transit facilities, the commuters independently utilize a reliable mode for their mobility, for instance by owning a motorcycle and using overnight parking service facility in their non-home-station.
Objective:This paper aims to understand the commuters' behavior on their egress trip when they decide to use the train as their main mode.
Methods:A direct interview survey on the train was conducted during peak hours from Monday to Friday. By implementing stated preference survey, a logit model was used to analyze mode choice decision from the railway station to activity end destination.
Results:The results indicate that walking distance to the parking area and bus-waiting time have a more significant impact compared to the walking distance to bus stop and in-bus travel time. Furthermore, the high cost of overnight parking also significantly influences the decision of choosing an egress mode. Otherwise, egress trip cost has less significance to encourage commuters' to shift to bus mode.
Pertumbuhan kendaraan roda dua maupun roda empat di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta setiap tahunnya terus bertambah, kenaikan kendaraan berkisar sampai seratus empat puluh ribu sampai seratus lima puluh ribu kendaraan bermotor pertahun, ini mengakibatkan semakin meningkat kepadatan dan kemacetan lalu lintas di Yogyakarta. Salah satu langkah mengurai kemacetan perlu dilakukan pembangunan transportasi kereta ringan Light Rail Transit (LRT) di Yogyakarta dan sesuai pada Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan Nomor KM 15 Tahun 2010 tentang Cetak Biru Transportasi Antarmoda/Multimoda menjelaskan bahwa untuk meningkatkan pelayanan transportasi, memecahkan berbagai permasalahan transportasi dan mengantisipasi berbagai perkembangan maka selain diperlukan pengembangan Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) diperlukan juga pengembangan perkeretaapian perkotaan dan regional di Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Hal yang perlu diperhatikan adalah daya beli pengguna jasa dalam kemampuan ATP (Ability To Pay) dan kemauan WTP (Willingness To Pay) membayar tarif LRT tersebut. Kajian ini ingin mengetahui penelitian mengetahui besaran daya beli calon pengguna Trem/LRT berdasarkan ATP dan WTP, dan berdara hasil analisis diperoleh ATP dan WTP dikategorikan menjadi dua yaitu kategori pelajar dan kategori umum dan tarif ideal yang sebenarnya masih dibawah nilai kemampuan membayar (ATP) responden pelajar sebesar Rp 8.620,- (Rp 431 x 20 km) dan responden umum sebesar Rp 15.700,- (Rp 785 x 20 km) sehingga apabila diterapkan tarif tersebut masyarakat masih mampu membayar dan mau menggunakan trem.
