MicroRNA (miR)-142-5p is a member of the miR-142 family, which have been shown to be associated with tumors, stem cells and disorders of the immune system. However, the role of miR-142-5p in atherosclerosis has yet to be investigated. In the present study, an atherosclerotic apolipoprotein E-deficient (apoE−/−) mouse model was constructed and fed a high-fat diet. The expression levels of miR-142-5p in the murine atherosclerotic plaques were detected by gene microarray analysis. In addition, an in vitro assay was used to determine the expression levels of miR-142-5p in human endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells and macrophages, which were treated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL). Furthermore, a miR-142-5p inhibitor and mimic was transfected into cultured human macrophages, in order to observe the effects on transforming growth factor-β2 (TGF-β2) expression. The effects of co-transfection of the miR-142-5p inhibitor or mimic with TGF-β2, in human macrophages, on the rate of apoptosis was analyzed. The expression levels of miR-142-5p were 6.84-fold higher in mice with stable atherosclerotic plaques, and 2.69-fold higher in mice with vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques, as compared with the controls. Furthermore, the expression levels of miR-142-5p were upregulated in the cultured human macrophages. The percentage of apoptotic cells was lowest in the macrophages transfected with both TGF-β2 and miR-142-5p inhibitors and treated with ox-LDL. The expression levels of miR-142-5p were upregulated in the atherosclerotic plaques of the apoE−/− mice. The findings of the present study have shown that the upregulation of miR-142-5p expression may regulate apoptosis in human macrophages by targeting TGF-β2. This effect may have an important role in the progression of atherosclerosis.
Aim To determine the efficacy of Internet‐based interventions in decreasing the prevalence of postpartum depression in perinatal women. Design This review was conducted according to the standards outlined in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses statement. Methods We performed a systematic meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials on the efficacy of Internet‐based interventions for postpartum depression. Studies (2008–2018) were identified through a search conducted on PubMed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library. Risk ratios or weighted mean differences with 95% confidence intervals were calculated using a fixed‐effects model or a random‐effects model. Stata software 11.0 was used to perform the meta‐analysis. Results Most of the seven eligible studies were randomized controlled trials. The random‐effects model indicated that Internet‐based interventions significantly improved postpartum depression (d = 0.642, N = 7). Attrition rates ranged from 4.5%–86.9% and from 0%–87.1% for the intervention and control groups, respectively.
Background: As a common cardiovascular disease, the morbidity and mortality of coronary heart disease (CHD) are increasing year by year. In recent years, many RCTs have proved that compared with conventional therapy, the combination of TCMIs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis can improve clinical efficacy. However, there is still a lack of direct comparative study between different kinds of TCMIs. Therefore, based on the NMA, this study compares the curative effects of various TCMIs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis in treating CHD to provide a reference for clinical medication. Methods: We will search PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, The Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, The Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodic Database, Wanfang Database, and China Biomedical Literature Database for the randomized controlled trials of Danhong injection, Xuesaitong injection, Dengzhanxixin injection, and Salvianolate injection in the treatment of CHD, and we will also manually retrieve from the following databases: Chinese Clinical Trial Register, conference papers, and unpublished studies or references. According to the pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria, 2 researchers independently screened the literature, extracted the data, and evaluated the RCTs’ quality. The primary outcome indicators are the total effective rate of improving angina pectoris symptoms and electrocardiogram improvement. Secondary indicators were angina pectoris attack frequency, angina pectoris attack time, hemorheology, and inflammatory factor level. And use Stata 16.0 software for mesh meta-analysis. Evidence will be checked using the classification of recommendation, evaluation, development, and evaluation. Results: In this study, from the perspective of different kinds of TCMIs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, we will compare the curative effects of varying treatment measures and rank the curative effects. Conclusion: This study will evaluate the efficacy of different kinds of TCMIs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis in the treatment of CHD and help clinicians improve their clinical effectiveness.
