The research objective is to develop case-based statistics materials for students in the department of Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan (PTB), Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Medan. The case-based statistics materials developed relate to the fields of civil and building engineering that are around students. The development of teaching materials is carried out using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The analysis stage is in the form of studies and gathering information about case-based teaching materials for statistics courses. The design stage is in the form of compiling case-based teaching materials in accordance with the objectives and achievements of the statistics course. The development stage is in the form of developing teaching materials, and validation is carried out by material, media, and language experts. The implementation stage is in the form of testing case-based teaching materials, and the evaluation stage is in the form of improving teaching materials that are arranged based on the results obtained. The results of the development of case-based teaching materials for statistics courses obtained quality in the aspect of material feasibility by 90.66%, in the aspect of presentation feasibility by 90.00%, and in the language feasibility aspect by 88.46%. So based on the results of the expert's assessment, the quality of the case-based teaching materials developed is very valid and appropriate to use. By using case-based teaching materials for statistics courses, learning is more effective and targeted and can improve students' HOTS abilities.
Vocational graduates are considered easy to get jobs for they have the characteristics of providing skills that follow the job market. However, the emergence of new types of work and the global crisis pose a threat to the workforce of vocational graduates. Therefore, many labour providers use employability skills as an alternative to deal with this change. This paper aims to determine the urgency of job skills in the face of changes in the labour market. This paper explores the essential components of the labour market based on Indonesia's main issues. Employability skills are the right choice in dealing with changes in the labour market. Job skills assure the workforce to find, retain and develop a career in a changing job market. The implications of this research will benefit labour providers who can deal with changes in the labour market. The model for forming the right work skills for vocational graduates is an exciting study for the future.
This paper aims to analyze the level of need for the development of E-Book-based energy-saving wallcovering research materials to increase students' knowledge and motivation for innovation. Up to the present, the lecture materials related to energy-efficient buildings are only based on concepts from theory without any development of innovative research results. Ideally, lecturers provide lectures based on the results of their research. By studying the research results, lecturers will know how to motivate students to think innovatively. However, during pandemics learning activities must be done online. The students are still required to be able to develop their knowledge and be innovative. Online learning provides opportunities for lecturers to guide the learning activities by applying technology, which can be given through E-Books. Therefore, increasing students' knowledge and motivation for innovation can be obtained by doing needs analysis on the development of learning materials for energy-saving walls covering research based on E-Books. This research data was obtained through a questionnaire to several lecturers at the Civil Engineering Study Program in Universitas Negeri Medan. This study uses Root Cause Analysis in obtaining the needs analysis. This analysis examines layer by layer causes to get the main cause of the importance of learning development needs based on E-Book-based energy-saving wall covering research materials. The identification results found several main causes of the importance of developing E-book-based energy-saving wall covering research materials.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
