PurposeBusiness process management (BPM) has been discussed in much literature as a crucial approach to achieve firm-enterprise business performance, however in term of digital business transformation to face the current digital enterprise business era, there is still much to be explored. Drawing sociotechnical perspective of ETHICS theory, the study develops and conceptualize information technologies/systems (IT/IS) proactive capability and socialization-codification knowledge process that produce business transformation process in digital-based era.Design/methodology/approachOf the 173 company-enterprise respondents in Indonesia, the authors empirically test and validate the conceptual model using structural equation model tool-SmartPLS and SPSS statistical. The enterprise respondents were manufactures industry, construction services, hardware and software, plantation and agriculture, financial and insurance services, and other retail trade.FindingsThe authors found different findings of mediating effect and direct relationship effect. Socialization knowledge process has directly influence IT/IS proactive capability and enterprise digital business transformation. Codification knowledge process has successfully support IT/IS proactive capability, but unsupported correlation on enterprise digital business transformation. Also, IT/IS proactive capability positively influence enterprise digital business transformation. Enterprise business process suffers when the firm transform their business process into digital-based only using codification knowledge practices because documented knowledge (codification type) is not strong enough to help company in the way of enterprise digital business transformation. Mediating role show IT/IS proactive capability is crucial approach for enterprise business transformation to maximize codification knowledge practices. The findings present one fully supported results of mediation role through IT/IS proactive capability. A stronger support for enterprise IT/IS strategy in company, a high opportunity for codification knowledge practices to improve the digital ways to transform the enterprise business process. In short, the results can guide enterprise managers on how to manage their knowledge resources and maximizing emerging technologies to achieve enterprise digital business transformation.Research limitations/implicationsThe authors acknowledged that future studies would be worthwhile to create, develop and strengthen the model and its related foundation. Future research may try different concept/theory that applicable in enterprise digital business transformation. Also, an opportunity for future study is how enterprise digital business transformation in different context of industries with the current emerging technologies (e.g. IoT, big data, AI).Originality/valueThis study offers a theoretical and conceptual framework to the applicable digital-based within enterprise business transformation context. A knowledge/novel contribution of this study is the integration of a sociotechnical that highly relevant and drives enterprise digital business transformation. This study also is an effort to combine some areas such as business transformation strategy, knowledge-intensive business services, knowledge management and IT/IS.
Purpose This paper aims to assess the importance of maximizing resources in an institution to promote knowledge management (KM) practices, namely, leadership, information technology (IT) and KM. The relationship among them was analyzed. Previous studies’ relating aspects of KM were concerned about the industry; however, the academic institution has not received much attention. Therefore, to address this in an academic setting, the authors developed research model by focusing on an academic institution. Design/methodology/approach The authors used structural equation modeling to check the research prototype with a sample of 160 respondents. The respondents were heads of departments, lecturers and general employees. In addition, the authors used SPSS to measure demographic, non-response bias and generate descriptive statistics. Findings The findings of this research show that the leadership style with path goal theory and IT are elements that support KM program in university setting. The results of hypothesis are displayed in Figure 2, including examining factors that influence of path goal theory, technology and KM program. In other hand, path goal theory had a positive influence on KM program (c = 0.13, p < 0.05), and IT had a positive influence on KM program (c = 0.20, p < 0.05). Research limitations/implications Finally, the authors are not to claim that this will be suitable in many academic institutions and organization types. In this study, the authors tested or checked existing leadership style in university, then suggest/explain to University what style of leadership currently they have and suggest to them how this style may support knowledge sharing practice in University. While the strength of this study provides an opportunity to explore the KM program of an academic institution, limitations do exist above. Therefore, this statement needs to be investigated and validated further. Practical implications The findings of this research may help companies and workers to initiate sharing knowledge or to encourage knowledge sharing in University. In addition, managerial staffs/officers are supposed to make standardization or regulation to encourage workers’ participation for transferring their knowledge. In this aspect, company needs create such as training or formal/informal meeting to make their workers more confidence to communicate each other. Originality/value The authors have combined various aspects, namely, KM, leadership style and social media tools, to solve the obstacle of knowledge sharing practices.
Purpose: The aim of this research paper is to examine the relationships between intangible assets, employee’s performance, and job satisfaction (JS) with structural model. The research explores both the practical and theoretical basis of these paradigms on organisation performance. This research also aims to identify whether a relation can be established between these aspects in the context of non-profit organisation performance in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: Reviewing the literature explores a theoretical existence of related context preceding the organisational performance. The authors used structural equation modelling to check the research prototype with a sample of 121 respondents. The respondents were heads of departments and general employees. In addition, SPSS was used to measure demographic, non-response bias, and generate descriptive statistics. Findings: Overall, the results demonstrate that organisation with a higher level of intellectual capital (IC), employee performance (EP), and job performance (JP) are important predictors of organisational performance in this sample. Similarly, JS and IC predicted EP. It is acknowledged that emotional intelligence such as satisfaction and dissatisfaction are important incentives to necessitate action tendencies. Research limitations/implications: This research is focused on organisations. Further research may extend the focus to different types of organisations and countries. Practical implications: The findings of this study may help institutions and HR departments to initiate new strategies such as integrating the traditional company performance measurement systems based on various indicators of this study. These factors succeed in providing an effective representation of a set of intangible assets that are developed by the company and that contribute to the improvement of company’s performance. Additionally, to maximise IC assets, the company can implement knowledge sharing practices among employees and experts as well. Original value/knowledge contribution: This research is useful for organisations and academics as a reference of the comparative and intersecting explanation of enhancing organisational performance. Moreover, various main concepts/theories are combined, namely, IC, JS, and employee’s performance to solve the obstacles of organisation performance.

But the fact there are many industries that do not apply information technology correctly into their business. In this research, provide to the best solution for applying the enterprise architecture framework correctly. The purpose of this paper is to design a manufacturing industry information system that is in accordance with the business model canvas and enterprise architecture. The design also discusses the development of a large and integrated information system with other systems. The study of Business Model Canvas is a business model that can explain and focus on nine business aspects with a solid strategy. Studies of the ArchiMate core Framework is the framework used to classify elements of the ArchiMate core language. These two methods are expected to be able to design an enterprise information system architecture consisting of business architecture, application architecture, information architecture and technology architecture as a result of the study. The result is a more complete system design to meet system requirements for users, integrated with existing system modules and no system duplication occurs.
<em>SMEs have become the backbone of the Indonesian economy which is faced with various situations and conditions. The increasingly competitive business environment forces SMEs to be able to maintain their existence. This effort can be realized by developing a good business ecosystem with the support of government regulations. In addition, business model innovation is also worth considering the changing needs, wants, and demands of customers. This study aims to examine the effect of ecosystem business and government regulation toward business agility mediated by business model innovation. This study involved 100 SME culinary in Bali, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo dan Jakarta which are selected using probability sampling technique. Data is obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents through G-Form. The collected data is then analyzed using Path analysis assisted by the Smart PLS application. The result shows that the business ecosystem and government regulation and business model innovation have a significant positive effect toward business agility. Business model innovation can mediate the relationship of the business ecosystem to business agility and the relationship of government regulation to business agility. Business model innovation is influenced by Business ecosystem and Government Regulation by 68.8%, business ecosystem, Government Regulation and business model innovation affects business agility by 61.6%. Researchers who want to conduct research on similar topics can add other independent and dependent variables so that the results obtained are more coherent.</em>
