Abstrak. Penyangraian kacang tanah (Arachis hypogae LINN) merupakan salah satu proses dalam mengolah kacang tanah segar menjadi salah satu produk makanan dengan citaras yang didaapat dari kualitas penyangraian. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk menguji kinerja alat penyangrai kacang tanah tipe silinder dan menyempurnakan hasil dari alat penyangraian kacang tanah. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penyangraian dilakukan dengan 2 perlakuan pemberian jumlah pemanas listrik dimana perlakuan pertama dengan penggunaan elemen listrik sebanyak 7 heater dan pada perlakuan kedua dengan menggunakan 9 heater, penyangraian dilakukan selama 4 jam dengan pencatatan suhu, tegangan dan arus setiap 30 menit sekali untuk melihat proses penyangraian berjalan dengan baik, pengukuran kadar air pada penelitian ini dilakukan pada awal sebelum penyangraian dan akhir setelah penyangraian selesai. Perbedaan penggunaan jumlah pemanas listrik yaitu 7 heater dan 9 heater dapat mempengaruhi laju penyangraian kacang tanah dimana 7 pemanas listrik mempunyai laju penyangraian 10,25 % /jam dan 9 pemanas listrik memiliki laju penyangraian 10,8 %/jam. Pemanas listrik dengan penggunaan sejumlah 7 heater memberikan suhu rata-rata penyangraian yaitu 69,22 0C sementara pada penggunaan 9 heater memberikan suhu pengeringan rata-rata 105 0C. Terdapat hubungan antara alat penyangrai kacang tanah dengan menggunakan 7 heater dan 9 heater terhadap penyangraian kacang tanah di tandai dengan turunya suhu pada kedua perlakuan dimana pada perlakuan 7 heater mampu menurunkan kadar air awal yaitu 51,59% menjadi 10,57% dan pada 9 heater kadar air awal turun menjadi 8,38%. Daya yang didapat dengan menggunakan 7 heater adalah sebesar 2,24 KW sementara pada penggunaan 9 heater membutuhkan daya sebesar 2,83 KW, hal tersebut terjadi karena pada penggunaan 7 heater memerlukan arus rata-rata 10,2 Ampere dan dengan 9 heater membutuhkan arus rata-rata 12,9 Ampere. Kebutuhan energi listrik yang didapat pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan 7 heater memerlukan kebutuhan energi listrik sebesar 9 KWH dengan biaya listrik Rp.12.600 sedangkan menggunakan 9 heater memerlukan kebutuhan energi listrik sebesar 11,38 KWH dengan biaya listrik Rp.15.932.Performance Test of Cylinder Type Arachis hypogae LINN Roasters by Using Electric Heater as a Heat SourceAbstract. Roasting peanut (Arachis hypogae LINN) is one of the processes in processing fresh peanuts into one food product with citaras which is obtained from the quality of roasting. The purpose of this study was to test the performance of a cylindrical type of roasting device and refine the results of the roasting equipment. Based on this research, roasting is done with 2 treatments giving the number of electrical heater where the first treatment is by using 7 heater and in the second treatment by using 9 heater, roasting is carried out for 4 hours by recording temperature, voltage and current every 30 minutes for seeing the roasting process went well, the measurement of water content in this study was carried out at the beginning before the roasting and the end after the roasting was completed. The difference in the use of the number of electrical heater that are 7 heater and 9 heater can affect the rate of roasting of peanuts where 7 heater have a roasting rate of 10.25% / hour and 9 heater have a roasting rate of 10.8% / hour. Electric heater with the use of 7 heater provide an average roasting temperature of 69.220C while the use of 9 heater provides an average drying temperature of 1050C. There is a relationship between roasted peanuts using 7 heater and 9 electrical heater to roasting peanuts marked with a drop in temperature in both treatments where in the treatment 7 heater can reduce the initial water content of 51.59% to 10.57% and for 9 heater the initial water content dropped to 8.38%. The power obtained by using 7 heater is 2.24 KW while the use of 9 heater requires power of 2.83 KW, this happens because the use of 7 electrical elements requires an average current of 10.2 Amperes and with 9 heater requires an average current of 12.9 Amperes. The need for electrical energy obtained in this study using 7 heater requires electrical energy needs of 9 KWH with electricity costs Rp.12.600 while using 9 heater requires electrical energy needs of 11.38 KWH with electricity costs Rp.15.932.
