Electronic-learning (E-learning) has been extensively utilized and gaining more impact in higher education. Some studies have compared face-to-face teaching to online learning to decide which of the design provides the highest learning outcome and create the most students’ satisfaction. This paper references some of the research work on the use of e-learning in higher education. I would like to share my 12 months teaching experience utilizing e-learning in my day to day teaching activities, from the challenges faced from the beginning of the e-learning utilization to the successes that I got from that e-learning that I got. Challenges did appear in the first month of the e-learning exertion. As can be expected there are many challenges faced by academics regarding the use and success of e-learning in an academic environment. Further, it can be divided into five categories: learning styles and culture, pedagogical e-learning, technology, technical training, and time management challenges.
This paper examined the effect of Duolingo application on students English vocabulary mastery using quasi-experimental with post-test only design. The participant of this research was the eighth-grade students in one of junior high school in Jember. In this study, the experimental group got treatment by using Duolingo application; meanwhile, the control group taught as usual by using flashcard as the media. The data was collected from vocabulary test and was analyzed by using SPSS with independent sample t-test. The result showed a significant difference between students who use Duolingo application and who didnt with the value of significance (0.017) which was less than 0.05 and the mean score of the experimental group (84.69) was higher than the mean score of the control group (80.78). This demonstrates that using Duolingo Application has a significant effect on students’ vocabulary mastery.
Grounded within academic emotion and transactional reading theory, the present study investigates the understudied struggling readers’ academic emotions after taking part in three blended literature circles in an English class at tertiary education. Thirteen Physics Education students partook in the research. Data were garnered by open-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, the results of which were analyzed by directed content analysis bound to Academic emotion theory. The research findings explicate that blended literature circles pave the path to propelling reading-to-learn endeavors. Despite sub-optimal reading proficiency, the students’ academic emotions depict the efforts towards achievement goals, primarily laden with a mastery approach, and social goals through dialogic reading in blended literature circles.
The problem with today's educational unit establishments is that the educational method developed by academics remains weak. the educational process that happens within the room is administered in step with the talents and tastes of the teacher furthermore because the current educational state of affairs and conditions that are adapting to the restricted face-to-face meeting (PTMT) policy, making a spot in educational goals and competencies that students should possess. This study aims to work out and describe however info management is to enhance the standard of education through planning, implementing, and evaluating curriculum activities. The analysis methodology used is descriptive qualitative through interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) curriculum designing concerned principals, teachers, education staff, school committees and college residents. The curriculum used is K13 Special Conditions supported the applicable PP; (2) the implementation of the curriculum is administered by holding workshops and training, job for and checking learning tools, and dividing the allocation of study time; (3) curriculum analysis is carried out through aspects specifically input, process, & output. Permasalahan lembaga satuan pendidikan dewasa ini adalah masih lemahnya proses pembelajaran yang dikembangkan oleh guru. Proses pembelajaran yang terjadi di dalam kelas di laksanakan sesuai kemampuan dan selera guru serta situasi dan kondisi pendidikan saat ini yang tengah beradaptasi dengan kebijakan pertemuan tatap muka terbatas (PTMT) membuat gap tujuan pendidikan dan kompetensi yang harus dimiliki siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengelolalaan kurikulum. Dalam meningkatkankan mutu pendidikan melalui kegiatan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pengevaluasian kurikulum. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah diskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) perencanaan kurikulum melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan, komite sekolah dan warga sekolah. Kurikulum yang digunakan adalah K13 Kondisi Khusus dengan berpedoman pada PP yang berlaku; (2) pelaksanaan kurikulum dilakukan dengan mengadakan workshop dan pelatihan, menghimbau dan memeriksa perangkat pembelajaran, dan pembagian alokasi waktu belajar; (3) evaluasi kurikulum dilakukan melalui aspek yakni input, proses, & luaran.
