Summary
The optimization of heat exchanger tube parametric having SiO2/H2O based nanofluid flow through the twisted tape insert. The optimization basis is to maximize the heat transfer function and minimize the pressure drop function. The parameters selected for optimization are: twisted tape width to diameter ratio WT/DT, twisted length to width ratio (LT/WT), and the nano particle concentration ϕ. The analysis is carried out for Reynolds number (Re) ranging from 5000 to 17 000. The analysis reveals that the parameter values that delivers the maximum heat transfer with minimum pressure drop is optimized parameter value for a selected range of Re. The optimum value of parameters are WT/DT of 0.8, LT/WT of 1.74, and ϕ of 1.25 vol.% and Re of 17 000.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
