Preliminary experience with SILS in children appears to be safe and effective. Greater numbers and a prospective trial will be necessary to assess the true benefit of this approach.

Telementoring is a useful adjunct in the field of pediatric surgery that can aid in the transfer of surgical skills remotely and shorten the time to implementation of new surgical techniques into practice. Optimal telementoring technology should have a secure wireless connection, high video resolution, and minimal bandwidth latency.

Cutaneous infections due to fungi of the order Mucorales are uncommon and usually present as a fulminant necrotizing cellulitis. We describe a case of a progressive wound infection at a surgical drain site caused by Rhizopus rhizopodoformis. The indolent nature of the infection and lack of systemic toxicity were atypical features. Mucormycosis should be suspected in cases of slowly progressive cellulitis in the appropriate clinical setting.
