Cohn, M., in The Chemical Basis of Development, ed. McElroy and Glass, (1958), pp. 458-468, suggests that the system referred to in notes 27 and 28 is an example of such steady states; but the proof that it operates in the cytoplasm and not at the locus of the gene is still lacking.
Wave-length measurements are given for lines in thirteen vibration-rotation bands of carbon dioxide observed between 1.5/* and 2.1M in the infra-red solar spectrum and in the laboratory. The observations were made with the McGregor spectrometer and Cashman cell of the McMath-Hulbert Observatory. Among the thirteen bands, seven originate from the ground state and two from the first excited state of C l2 0 2 16 . The remaining four are identified with ground state transitions in the isotopic molecules C ,3 0 2 16 and C 12 0 16 0 18 . The rotational constants ai, a 2 , and a 3 have been determined from analysis of the rotational structures. The mean value found for J5 0 oo is 0.3906 cm" 1 and for the equilibrium position B e -0.3920 cm -1 .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
