A large variation of these properties has been found within the wide homogeneity ra~ge of Ta~: . t.he resistivity increases with carbon deficiency fro~ 25 to. a~out 150 p{l·c~, and t~e magnetic susceptibllity changes its sign, the material being paramagnetic at stOlchiometry and dlamagnetlc at the low-~~bon phase boundary. The temperature coefficient of the resistivity has also been found to be charactenstlc for each composition and to depend strongly on the Ta: C ratio.. A method for preparation of homogeneous samples of a predetermmed carbon content has been developed. The experimental results are discussed in the light of previous theories.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
