Se probó el efecto de siete consorcios de hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) aislados de fincas cafetaleras con diferente nivel de tecnología (bajo, medio y alto) del estado de Veracruz, en el crecimiento de plantas de café (Coffea arabica L.) var. Garnica en condiciones de invernadero y de campo. El grado de tecnificación influyó en la composición de especies de HMA, a mayor tecnificación menor número de especies de HMA encontradas. En condiciones de invernadero, los consorcios incrementaron la altura en un 91 % con respecto al testigo absoluto y al testigo fertilizado con fósforo (800 mg Ca(PO 4) 3 L-1). A los 130 días después de la inoculación (DDI), el mejor consorcio fue La Estanzuela (ES). En condiciones de campo, a los 290 DDI, las plantas inoculadas con los consorcios ES, Miradores (MI), y Paso Grande (PG) tuvieron mayor supervivencia (> 80 %). Los consorcios más efectivos en la promoción de la altura y supervivencia de las plantas en condiciones de campo, procedieron de agroecosistemas con nivel de tecnología medio (MI y ES), mismos que tuvieron mayor número de especies de HMA.
The present study investigated relations between basic psychological need satisfaction (autonomy, relatedness, and competence), autonomous motivation, and work meaning. With a sample of 462 working adults, we used structural equation modeling to test the incremental validity of including autonomous motivation in a model predicting meaningful work from basic psychological need satisfaction. The satisfaction of autonomy and relatedness needs directly predicted autonomous motivation, while competence need satisfaction directly predicted meaningful work. Mediation analyses supported the incremental contribution of autonomous motivation in the links from autonomy and relatedness to work meaning, but not from competence to work meaning. Our findings provide novel connections between the bodies of literature on Self-Determination Theory and meaningful work. We discuss practical implications for career counselors, organizational leaders, and policymakers, as well as future research directions.
Psychology of Working Theory (PWT) has recently gained empirical support; however, its assumptions have yet to be tested for cultural responsiveness in Latinx communities, one of the fastest-growing worker populations in the U.S. The current study had two major aims: (a) to translate and validate instruments measuring PWT constructs from English into Spanish, and (b) to test theorized PWT predictors of decent work in a sample of Latinx workers ( N = 287). First, we translated and validated instruments measuring economic constraints, lifetime marginalization, work volition, and decent work using confirmatory factor analyses (CFA). We then tested a structural model predicting decent work. Results partially supported PWT hypotheses, suggesting its utility and cultural responsiveness in studying the work patterns and conditions in Latinx communities. Practical implications are discussed.
The U.S. has a history of marginalizing Black people. Marginalization impedes Black Americans’ ability to secure wealth, education, and meaningful work. The Psychology of Working Theory (PWT) uses a social justice lens to understand how contextual factors inform the labor market experiences of those who work and want to work. PWT highlights the ways economic constraints and marginalization predict access to decent work. We tested the PWT model with two measures of marginalization, general ethnic discrimination, and racial microaggressions, with a sample of 241 Black workers to add to the extant literature about the suitability of the PWT for racial minorities. Diverging from previous studies, we found that marginalization predicted career adaptability. Consistent with previous studies, marginalization and economic constraints predicted Black workers’ work volition and perceived access to decent work. Work volition mediated the relationship between general ethnic discrimination and economic constraints with the perception of attaining decent work.
This paper presents an analysis and configuration methodology for video-on-demand services. Usually, two entities take part in this kind of services: a network operator and a content provider. The former provides an Internet connection and manages servers and proxies, whereas the latter generates the provided contents. All their possibilities of configuration must be based on an accurate service behavioural analysis which evaluates the quality and the quantity of resources, contents and subscribers. This analysis can be performed using monitoring information and predictions of a near future behaviour established by managers. To formalize both analysis and configuration, a methodology must be developed in order to help the service managers to attain a good performance and at the same time, make a profit for their companies.
