Heavy metals are metallic elements with high molecular weight. Heavy metals are classified as essential and non-essential. Essential heavy metals are needed in small amounts, such as Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn, while non-essential heavy metals are heavy metals that are not needed by living organisms such as Cd, Pb, Ag, Hg, and Cr. Heavy metal management aims to reduce the negative impact of soil contamination due to heavy metals. One of the heavy metals management is using organic materials. Eco enzymes are the result of fermentation of organic materials that are rich in microorganisms. Microorganisms are very important to help the decomposition process, transport nutrients, and degrade soil pollutants including heavy metals. This research aims to determine the effect of Eco Enzyme metal on the heavy content in the ex-coal mining soil. The study showed that the administration of eco-enzyme solutions with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% gave the results of the analysis of heavy metals As, Pb, Hg, and Cd which were not much different, but the heavy metal content was in the normal range so that no harm to the soil.
Pandemi COVID-19 merupakan situasi luar biasa yang terjadi di masyarakat dunia, termasuk Indonesia. Masa pandemi COVID-19 mengharuskan masyarakat untuk bekerja dari rumah (work from home) dan menjalankan segala aktivitas dari rumah, hal ini menyebabkan banyak waktu untuk melakukan berbagai aktivitas termasuk budidaya tanaman hias. Aglaonema (Aglaonema sp) merupakan salah satu tanaman hias yang banyak diminati di masa pandemi COVID-19. Aglaonema atau lebih dikenal dengan sebutan “Ratu Daun” sangat digemari oleh para pecinta tanaman hias. Tanaman aglaonema mulai banyak dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat, bahkan sampai menjual tanaman hias. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah tanaman aglaonema tidak mudah dirawat, aglaonema mudah stress, memerlukan media khusus agar tumbuh dengan baik dan rentan terhadap penyakit, sehingga perlu dilakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang teknik budidaya aglaonema. Pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan, demonstrasi, dan pelatihan. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukkan bahwa melalui penyuluhan budidaya tanaman hias aglaonema ini, ibu-ibu dari keluarga gang Jalan Gerilya RT 35 Samarinda Kalimantan Timur mendapatkan tambahan tanaman mengenai budidaya tanaman hias aglaonema. Pengetahuan warga khususnya ibu-ibu diharapkan dapat menerapkan apa yang telah dipelajari mengenai pembuatan media tanam, perbanyakan dan budidaya tanaman hias aglaonema untuk melakukan kegiatan wirausaha di bidang tanaman hias. Kegiatan budidaya tanaman hias aglaonema ini menjadi salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan pendapatan di masa pandemi Covid 19. Kata kunci: Aglaonema, budidaya tanaman hias, dan Ratu Daun
