Local community development is a process aimed at creating social and economic progress for the community to be directly involved in empowering farmers in Heberima Village, Jayawijaya Regency with the aim of helping farmers develop and cultivate their land to be productive and able to prosper farmers. In addition, it can also directly develop organic farming systems that have been implemented for a long time. The method of implementations this activity is carried out by socialization, mentoring, training and workshops. This activity was carried out in July-October 2021. The results of the implementation of this activity have a positive impact and good learning for students, institutions, partners and local governments in processing unproductive land into productive land and increasing farmers' income by aligning agricultural and tourism activities. The percentage of achievement of the results of service activities is 80% of farmers as land owners who are very enthusiastic in implementing the intended PHP2D activities.
Increasing national food security needs to be built from food security at the household scale. Household-scale food security means that each family can meet their food needs independently. The yard of the house is the closest area that can be used by households for cultivating food crops, such as vegetables and fruits. The purpose of this work program is to stimulate productive community activities in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, increase public awareness to take advantage of unused yards, increase independent food security, especially among families, and increase the entrepreneurial spirit of the community by utilizing local food that is around and increase the value of the community. plus. This service activity was carried out in Kama Village, Wesaput District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province which lasted for ± 1 month at the same time as the STIPER Petra Baliem Wamena Real Work Lecture Program Batch XIII 2021/2022. The results of the activity show that the application of the use of yard land can be applied in the community of Kama Village so that the community can be self-sufficient in food and able to utilize materials that are easily found as planting containers, the basic ingredients of vegetable pesticides and cattle waste fertilizers that are commonly encountered and are able to improve aesthetics in the house environment.
Ketahanan pangan menjadi topik utama perkembangan suatu bangsa yang akhir-akhir ini diperbincangkan oleh banyak pihak sebagai konsekuensi dari dampak penyebaran COVID-19 yang semakin meluas. Pola konsumsi dan produksi nasional sampai sekarang masih terfokus pada beras, padahal ketergantungan hanya pada beras memiliki risiko besar. Usaha diversifikasi pertanian serta usaha penganekaragaman bahan pangan sebagai sumber kalori perlu dikembangkan, terutama penganekaragaman bahan pangan lokal yang ada di setiap daerah di Indonesia, salah satunya seperti di Wamena. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi dan pendampingan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pengolahan bahan pangan lokal singkong dan ubi jalar sebagai solusi ketahanan pangan di masa pandemik. Hasil pelaksnaan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak positif dan pembelajaran yang baik dalam pengolahan bahan pangan lokal singkong dan ubi jalar sebagai solusi ketahanan pangan di masa pandemik sehingga masyarakat di Kampung Kama Distrik Wesaput dapat mengembangkan pengetahuan terkait bentuk olahan pangan lokal dan dapat meningkatkan ketahanan pangan petani di masa pandemik saat ini.Ketahanan pangan menjadi topik utama perkembangan suatu bangsa yang akhir-akhir ini diperbincangkan oleh banyak pihak sebagai konsekuensi dari dampak penyebaran COVID-19 yang semakin meluas.
